District 6 Vacations
While you are in District 6, why not spend a few hours taking in surrounding areas like Cape Town, Oranjezicht and Tamboerskloof.
Cape Town is known as the home of Table Mountain. This popular attraction is 3 miles (5 kilometers) from the center of town.
To really understand Cape Town, visit one of its museums and theaters. Find the treasures kept in some of the inspiring galleries and collections such as the District Six Museum, the Old Town House and the South African Jewish Museum. For a great night out, spend an evening at the Artscape Theatre Centre, one of the region’s premier performing arts venues. Enjoy the wonderful exhibits at the South African National Gallery.
If you are travelling with kids, give them a chance to let off some steam at the child-friendly attractions nearby. The kids should not miss out on the incredible animal adventures at the Two Oceans Aquarium.
If you are into nature, plan a trip to the nearby green spaces. These are great places to relax. Go for a long walk in Signal Hill.
If you are spending a while in and around District 6, be sure to visit Clock Tower, Greenmarket Square and the St. George's Cathedral. If you’re into history, the region’s past comes vividly back to life at the Castle of Good Hope.
Add to your wardrobe, stock up on groceries or just people-watch at nearby fashion hotspots such as the Cape Quarter Lifestyle Village, the Golden Acre Shopping Mall and the Pan African Market.
While vacationing in District 6, you can see the Ajax Cape Town soccer team at Cape Town Stadium, the region’s premier sporting venue.
