Not what we expected

Posted Nov 1, 2013
Pros: The king-sized bed was firm.
Location: The location was nice. Off the beaten path, which was a nice break from the other chains along the highway.
This hotel reminded me of a scary movie plot from the 1950's. The office is a small room with a counter located behind the main home of the owners. The room was ok, but not fantastic. We were told there was it was a micro-fridge room and that they served continental breakfast. Neither was true. We had to request a microwave because we had planned on staying in for dinner. They did have a fridge but it didn'e work. We kept our items in the ice chest to keep things cold. Luckily the weather was chilly outside too. The bathroom was very old and didn't seem clean, although I;m not sure if some of those stains could be gotten up. I DID NOT let my daughter take a bath in that tub; She took a shower that night. I asked about breakfast and they said they don't serve breakfast, again luckily, we had some milk and cereal for morning. I was very disappointed but the cost was minimal, so I couldn't complain too much.

Just a dump

Pros: Leaving
Cons: Complete remodel and new staff
Room smelled badly of mildew. Carpet dirty, furniture old, and found a used dried up coffee bag still in the maker. I'd stay away from this hotel. We booked for 2 days and left after 1. Drove 15 minutes down the road to Salem and stayed at a very nice comfort inn.
