Nothing special

Posted Oct 28, 2014
Location: NOTHING!! No decent restaurants in the area, nothing to do. We had to drive about 11 miles just to find a bar that served food...
Nothing really wrong with this hotel, just nothing special. Kind of plain, kind of old, kind of blah. Front desk staff okay, but not overly friendly or helpful. Room okay but just. Bathroom okay but old and worn.

Surprisingly nice!

For a small town, we did not expect such nice accommodations. We only needed a room for one night as we were traveling on to Door County. Room, bed and breakfast were great.

Perfect hotel for families with students at UW-Platteville. Quiet, clean and friendly. Chain drugstore across the street and pizza deliverable to the room. Very good place to stay and will use repeatedly when in town for student at Platteville.

Had a great stay.

Pros: Clean Hotel with a friendly staff
Cons: Needs larger parking lot, I arrived late and parked next door. The front desk mgr offered her parking spot as she was getting off work in 15 minutes.
Location: Preferred place to stay when visiting UW Platteville
Hotel was not new but clean and well kept. All the staff I encountered were helpful and friendly. We are planning on staying here next time I'm in the area.

Mother Naturee

Posted Jun 25, 2014
Pros: Easy to access.
Cons: Staff with better customer service skills.
I understand Mother nature happens but I believe there should have been a discount offered as the pool was unavailable during our stay. We choose the hotel for the pool and was unable to use it on our first night there. The staff was not able to get the discount applied to our bill at our check in. It was not discovered that I was being charged the full price of the stay until there was an issue with my credit card and when I asked what amount it was being charge, I was being charged the full price of the stay after I was offered a discount of $30 per night. Once I had them recalculate the stay the amount was correct and no issues with my credit card. I also found out that other family and friends that were staying were NOT offered a discount due to the mother nature damage to the pool area. Disappointing to say the least.

It was nice & quiet & close to the campus. Wish there were eggs on the brunch. Not really a waffle person.

Well maintained hotel, with friendly staff.

Pros: Cleanliness, friendly staff.
Cons: Internet was a bit slow and kept dropping, but that may be a general problem in the town.
Location: Restaurants, fast food and big stores like Walmart close by. Dubuque is a scenic short drive (20 minutes). Exploring was somewhat limited by cold.
My family recently stayed for a week. The hotel is conveniently located near restaurants and fast food. Staff were friendly and helpful but not intrusive. Unlike many hotels that gradually reduce towels and other provisions, we were fully stocked daily. Free breakfast was good, and there is free tea, coffee and hot chocolate in the lobby 24/7. In-house guest laundry was nice. Altogether a very pleasant experience. There is no elevator so if you have trouble with stairs, request a ground floor room.
