Hotel is in the middle of a construction zone & it was Ramadan, so visiting Doha was probably our mistake. Add hot, windy, dusty weather & you get the idea. Walking anywhere around the hotel was a real trial, although it was relatively close to Souq Waqif & excellent Museum of Islamic Art. On arrival, our (smoking, when we asked for non-smoking) room was only provisioned for 1 person, so extra towels, etc, had to be brought. Also, we were given an information form about Ramadan, indicating an evening buffet meal was available. When we arrived at the dining room, we were told the buffet started on June 1, so had to choose from rather a limited & overpriced a la carte menu. Dining room service was also very slow. When I raised the information with reception, they realized the form did not stipulate the buffet start date & had to revise the form for other guests. Hotel facilities were OK but I had to ring to get the Jacuzzi area opened well after it was supposed to be unlocked. The shower recess in our room did not drain properly & there were a couple of room maintenance issues during our stay. At least the room was large & the bed was comfortable. Suggest avoiding this hotel until local noisy construction work is complete. Not surprised to hear the hotel was only 50% full.
