“Outstanding location, service, and dining!”
Very relaxing atmosphere located right on the water. It is conveinantly located to all museums and shopping. The perfect getaway spot. We will be back.
“Doha Marriott.... worth skipping”
The Marriott Doha is worth skipping. This is supposedly a 5 star hotel, but the only thing 5 star about it was the price. I stayed here with a friend for a holiday for 4 days, but wish we had stayed somewhere else. In general, the overall service was terrible with the only possible bright spots being the Asian Restaurant and the nightclub. The service in the Mediterranean and the Italian restaurants were the absolute worst. The food was mediocre at best .... The only time the staff was friendly was when we were leaving and they were all lined up at the entrance to say good bye. Even at the pool, service had to be requested time after time. Unfortunately, the pool is in the shade most of the day. The best part about this hotel are the superb sheets and bed..... some of the best I've experienced. But the bathroom isn't great and the shower is more like what you would find in a 2-3 star hotel. When we asked for a taxi, the doorman told us we would have to wait for one to come around sometime. When asked to phone a taxi for us, they reluctantly pulled out their book of contacts and placed the call. We did receive great service and attention from the Pearl Nightclub within the hotel. Gustav was quite personable and made us feel welcomed. There are many other hotels in Doha so I would not recommend the Doha Marriott. I'm sure it's not the worst, but it is certainly not 5 star. Next time, I'll revisit Sharq Village next door. Now that is a hotel worth recommending.
“Great for business deals”

Overall this hotel was an excellent one, welcoming , comforting and has a very special taste of the east. It provided all the services needed and also had a lovely view overlooking the gulf . The only defect was that it is far away from the city center, no shuttle bus and the hotel car is too too expensive.
