Friendly staff, good location, clean room, parking for guests (which is a big deal in downtown doha). Wifi could've been better..

Comfortable hotel close to major sights

Posted Oct 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
Rooms are of medium size, comfortable and nicely furnished. All are kept immaculately clean. Breakfast buffet is excellent and the staff is very friendly and attentive. The location is excellent, within walking distance Souq Waqif, Corniche and Museum of Islamic Art, which are the three major sights of Doha. To some, the surroundings of the hotel may appear a little rundown, some areas are slated for assanation. There are some good and inexpensive Indian restaurants nearby. The hotel can be highly recommended for tourists more interested in sights than shopping.

probably best deal you'll find

Doha hotels are expensive, there are some cheap offers around but this one is good because the hotel is clean and decent. It's in good location downtown, can walk to Souk Waqif, and you can get a 10 rial biryani from Calicut Paragon restaurant just down the street. You can also do 5-10 minute walk to Mercure hotel where there is an amusing bar on top floor, where drunk Qataris come in for last orders before midnight such as a jug of Fosters or a shot of Ricard and a white wine.

Hotel OK. Location not really enjoyable.

Posted Mar 20, 2013
Pros: Near Souq Wakif
Cons: Location
Location: old and not very nice to look at.
The hotel is not too bad but located in a very old area of Doha. Really not a nice view. The only good thing to say is that it is very near the Souq Wakif and not far away from the Islamic museum. Do not ask for a taxi from the staff of the hotel as they will charge you for calling it. Better go on the street in front of the hotel and grab one. Pay attention to the staff has they are looking for every situation to charge you for something. Also, just for the ones interested in, a small mosque is right in front of the hotel. So the call for the prayer is very loud. Didn't bother me at all but some might.

No wireless internet in rooms

Posted Mar 2, 2013
The hotel was pleasing. However it would have been nice to have wifi in the rooms. They only have wired internet. For wireless guests need to Go to the lobby. Which is quite a pain.

Noisy

Posted Dec 14, 2011
Location: The pearl
The room was good , but the area around the hotel was very noisy. We have been waken up at 6 am , on drilling noise (from building work at the basement), on 2 successive days. Also there was a building adjacent to the hotel being demolished, which was really noisy. Food was good & availability of free internet was helpful.
