Dolphin Cove hotels in Ocho Rios, Jamaica

Not recommended: Minuses - Restaurants aren't that great. there is one big buffet which is open all the time and is decent. But the fancier restaurants that you have to wake up at 9am to get a reservation, really aren't much of an upgrade, most are also buffets. the best are the ones that start with "Sir.." and the steakhouse. - Bartenders are hit or miss on drinks. - One beer. i loved Red Stripe at the beginning of the trip, don't think i can touch the stuff for a while now. - Guy working at the front checkin/info desk, sucked. Basically had to figure things out when we got there. And he was being rude to other guests. - Heckled at the beach by the locals trying to sell jet-ski rides or silly craft items. - The fitness center is a joke. full of broken equipment from the 80's - Something i ate, made me go to the bathroom alot... alot alot - No hot tubs, they have some connected to the pools with jets even, cept it's the same temp as the pool - Pools close in the early evening - Bad towel animal with dead flowers... only got one. haha it was a good laugh tho Pluses + Friendly travellers, cept the one couple from my homestate hah + beef patties + Large Buffet and Italian restaurant/buffet were decent + I'm sure the food would satisfy less discriminating tastes + I think kids would like it and be entertained + Very affordable + Decent snorkling at the edge of the beach floats, it's even better past it.. cept the locals on jet ski's will probably run you over See all reviews for this hotel

Recommended: The hotel staff was amazing...everyone was so friendly and fun. The food was great so many different choices everyday. The water sports and other off site activities that were included were so much fun. I would definately reccommend this resort to anyone going to Jamaica. They only thing I wish was better was the drive to & from the Montego Bay Airport, it takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to get there depending on the traffic, but it was worth it... the hotel property was beautiful and nicely located by Dunn's River Falls and a horseback riding excursions. Couples Tower Isle really made our Honeymoon memorable, I wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you to all the staff members. See all reviews for this hotel

Recommended: I didn't have high expectations based on the reviews of others, but my experience was okay. Hot water worked, AC worked, fan was in bedroom and living room. The fan was noisy so we used the AC. The bathtub needed repair but was functional. Again it was close to everywhere, we are used to Ochi so we walked around town for lunch and recreation. The grounds are well kept and security was adequate. I would stay there again. Compared to Rooms on the Beach, its 100 % better experience. Recommended: upon arrival we were greated by friendly staff and received complimentary rum punches. not so much a great view of beach. Hotel is extremely secure, felt like home (we stayed for 2 weeks) food not so great for the price only ate at restaurant once . it is right in the heart of the strip. rented a car but didnt really need it dunn's river a 5 min drive away property has a really nice beach. no activites at hotel. rooms surprisingly clean.definetly stay again. Recommended: We were a little apprehensive upon arriving since this is a clothing optional resort. But it turned out to be the most relaxing, romantic vaction ever. It is geared for couples who just want to spend some time together, very private. The all-inclusive part was phemonimal, you don't need any money at all on the resort, not even for tipping. Recommended: This was my second time visiting Ocho Rios and for someone what doesn't want the all-inclusive experience I highly recommend this hotel. Rooms is situated on Main street, near the markets, restaurants, and clubs of Ocho Rios. It is also in walking distance of the main hub of Route taxis going all over the island. I booked an regular ocean front room and was upgraded to one with a balcony. The continental breakfast was very nice, the waiters and staff there are very kind and professional. It's basically like staying at a holiday in, air conditioned rooms, cable television, mini store, and free ice machine. There is also a coffee pot and tea as well. The hotel is very safe, and quiet and right on the beach. I didn't order real food from the restaurant because there are just too many options in the city. See all reviews for this hotel
