The lodge is walking distance to main attraction

Posted Jul 5, 2014
Pros: A very pleasant atmosphere, use of a kitchen, staff available and helpful. There is lots of room to relax and meet others. Only stayed for one night b
Cons: WiFi was not available in rooms
Location: New Grange is within walking distance to the ancient tombs, out in the country. A pub near by with excellent food and a variety store as well
A very pleasant atmosphere. Breakfast was good with a nice variety. Family run business, who were very accomodating

Halloween Getaway

Posted Nov 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
We sought out the Newgrange Lodge to escapt the Halloween hijinks in our neighborhood, which is filled with hundreds of tric-or-treaters. We would have been satisfied with a simple quiet room - which we did certainly enjoy - but we received a very warm welcome from Sinead at the reception desk. She even made tea for us and talked about where to get a nice meal in nearby Slane. Her advice was spot-on and we enjoyed our dinner. Later we enjoyed the subfloor heated room. Very comfortable to put your feet on a warm floor instead of cold stones! Breakfast was continental and ample, with fresh coffee and tea and a good assortment of choices to eat. On leaving we forgot to bring my wife's coat, but Sinead called our home and left a message that she had found it and was keeping it in the office for us. We collected the coat the next day, welcomed again with tea and biscuits! We had a wonderful stay. Sinead, you are worth your weight in gold!

Great location

Posted Sep 27, 2013
Pros: Location, staff, breakfast, kitchen
Cons: Nothing
Location: Follow the County Meath travel guide. Superb location to explore.
Great location. Good place to stay and explore the area. Lodge staff were great with advice on a number of things. Rooms are small but comfortable. Walls a little thin so sound travels, but not a big issue. Breakfast is good and availability of a kitchen to prepare meals for oneself is a bonus. Would stay there again and happy to recommend this lodge.

Close to Newgrange monument

Posted Jul 31, 2013 on Hotels.com
This is a great place to stay if you are planning to visit Newgrange the next morning. It has some regular rooms and some hostel like facilities which makes for a busy place but was quiet at night for sleeping. There are trails and paths and play areas for kids. Breakfast is continental so don't expect a hot meal. It is less than a mile from the Newgrange heritage site so very convenient with very quiet surroundings.

Great location, poor servie

Posted Jul 25, 2013 on Hotels.com
Newgrange lodge is close to Newgrange, however, it is approx. 10 mins drive to Slane, the closest town which has restaurants and bars. The hotel itself was more like a hostel. The service and staff were very nice, the room was very basic and the shower didnt work. The room was clean. The breakfast was terrible, the food was extremely basic and the seating area was more like a hostel than a B&B. The common rooms were good and spacious. Overall it was too expensive for what it was. It really depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking for a romantic or comfortable stay then go somewhere else. If you are looking for a basic, clean hostel, then this is the place although it is over-priced for this purpose.

Nice hotel, decorated great, multiple lounge areas

Posted Jun 23, 2013
Pros: Newness, friendliness
Cons: Larger rooms and bathrooms
Location: Location is great, 5 minute walk to Newgrange. Try Daly's in the nearest town, it was awesome! Also Slane Castle is very near.
The hotel itself was nice and in new condition. There was a lounge area where we could watch movies, Facetime back home or have a snack. The hotel staff was great and was able to get me on a tour at Newgrange right away in the morning without having to wait in line. The rooms and bathrooms are very small, but all we do is sleep in the room so it was perfect for us.

a perfect spot to visit Newgrange from...2 minute walk to the site. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful....10's. Great buffet breakfast to start your day included. Wifi signal very weak which made for problems connecting. Loved the place!
