“Relaxation time”

I was very impress with the hotel front desk they were very courteous. The room service staff was very helpful and the hotel amenities for the guest were very good the restaurant , the hot tub, the swimming pool for kids and adults, the happy hour free drinks , the music for Friday and Saturday . I believe the hotel need improvement on music entertainment for Sunday because I was in vacation and Sunday was like a death night on the lobby and bar area compare with the "Isla Verde Marriot Courtyard" and others. Eventhought the manager Mr.Crespo was very helpful, professional and his staff George,Angel ,Aileen and Ms.Qeeny at the pool area. The office available 24 hours to use the Guest Service room was a plus. Mr. Crespo show us the special of the day for the restaurant in our way in to the restaurant and definitly it was delicious as he told us. The parking area was always keep clean and we did not have have any problems at all. The hotel facilities were outsatnding the location is great to sighseeing other beaches such as Cerro Gordo about 15 minutes from there. San Juan about 25 minutes. Me and my husband Carlos want to take this opportunity to thanks Mr. Crespo and his staff for make our staying in the hotel so good. We will recommend this hotel to everyone. which by the way has every view from the balcony in the room or the hallway were breathtaking to the ocean and the mountains.

I will recommend my fellow trav elers to check the Cerro Gordo Beach in Vega Alta. The Observatory in Arecibo. The caverns in Arecibo. El faro in Arecibo. The guajataca area, The surfing beaches of Isabela. Olda San Juan . Isla Verde Pinones. The condado area. The Catamaran trips in Fajardo. The Rain Forest in Palmer, Luquillo.

“very clean”

the staff was very helpful. The pool area was kept pristine clean. We were out there every morning at 6:30 and every morning there was a crew of people scrubbing the pool, walkways etc... Breakfast was good. The only complaint I had was there was a lot of renovations going on while we were there so everyday something else was closed due to consruction.

Area recommendations

We went outside of Dorado to experience the local culture. Dorado was more "americanized" as every resort location usually is.

“nice hotel”

The hotel was nice, service was good , the only thing i didn't like is that there was a public beach and all the surrounding buildings shared the pool! Never went in the pool once on our stay ......

“Better than I expected”

We just returned, definitely glad we opted to stay outside of San Juan. This is our third experience with an embassy suites property and they did not disappoint. It's great for families with the full breakfast although the 9:30am end time for breakfast was a little hard to make, because we like to sleep in. There is a new (non-smoking) casino on site which was a nice surprise for us. Our kids enjoyed the pool and with our car rental we where able to explore the rest of the island.

“Dorado, best kept secrete in the US carribian”

The hotel manager helped me when the taxi driver tried to take me for too much money and then in the hotel lobby the taxi driver threatened to steal one of my bags. I could not have asked the manager to have handled it better. She allowed me to let my kids go to the room so they could start their vacation and us adults could handle the matter. She then had the hotel pay the taxi driver the original fare rate and she later sent a refund to me for my inconvinience. So in other words the hotel took the tab. They also gave me his info and the info of the teriost boar so I could complain to them. The rest of our vacation was awesome and the hotel staff made sure of that. I would and already have recommended to stay here!!!

“A home away from it all”

The hotel was beautiful and the staff was very welcoming. I enjoyed having all the comforts one hopes to have being away on vacation. The layout of the exterior was awesome with more than one type of pool and an attached beach as well. Knowing that my 6yr old enjoyed the amenities aimed toward the young was a definate plus in my parent book. As for accomodations I was very comfortable and pleased with it. Having a Japanese restaurant and a choice of another eatery for day and night was pluses. The best part was knowing that if you woke up in time breakfast was included helped in the process. We're not talking a continental breakfast whereas you're lucky to get a soft bagel, we're talking a grand choice of food!! Only wished it lasted a bit later than 9:30 or 10:30am (weekends only) since oversleeping is part of vacationing. All in all I loved it and although it was pricey it was NICEY. :)

Area recommendations

A must see is Avenida De Las Americas - if you think all malls are alike well you'll be wrong. Visit El Yunque (Rainforest) - being able to drive as well if preferred hike is a great plus - The forest great to experience at least once in one's life See the beauty of Old San Juan and experience it's lovely fort and castle Become one with each beach...Luquillo, Dorado, Pinones, etc. wave after wave will deliver you to stressfreedom.

When to go

I always choose to go to Puerto Rico in March due to less humidity and less bugs to bug and less tourists. In this case LESS IS MORE! :)

Getting there

Flying is not ever going to be like it used to be....spacious and hassle free Now not only are you placed in a can with too many sardines on your lap and security on your rear but you must pay higher for this sort of vanity. Grin and bear it. It's always helpful to carry a few extra bucks for the finer things in life like someone helping with your luggage, someone driving you to your destination and most of all helping yourself to at least two tiny drinks on board to ease the turbulance if need be :)

Getting around

Rent a car is a must if you really want to experience Puerto Rico but beware TAKE FULL INSURANCE the drivers are wild and intimidating.

What to pack

Loose clothing and comfortable always take a shawl or cardigan for those a/c freaks.

“Nice place to stay”

We found Embassy Suite a nice place to stay. The breakfast buffet was excellent and we looked forward to it every day. The free drinks and snacks in the evening were also something to look forward to. The room itself could use a little updating as far as the carpeting goes but we weren't in there very long anyway except to sleep. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful! Our entire Puerto Rico vacation was wonderful except for the traffic. We rented a van and drove everywhere we went.
