Short breakPosted Dec 4, 2013
Pros: Really comfy, homely and excellent food.
Cons: Nothing I can think of.
Location: It is out in the countryside, which we enjoyed. Not too far to Dorchester or Weymouth both of which we visited.
We were made very welcome on our arrival, comfy warm room, friendly staff and customers. We arrived on a Sunday and had the carvery which was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the food was excellent, and we will certainly be going back at some point.

Lovely place, lovely people.Posted Nov 22, 2013
Caught in a lot of traffic on the way up and worried about missing our check in time but rang up and the staff were so kind and understanding and put our minds to ease. When we finally arrived they did everything they could for us. The room was beautiful and the breakfast was too, only a shame that we had to rush off early the next morning so didnt get to spend as much time there as we wanted.

A Real Gem, pure tranquilityPosted Sep 11, 2013
Pros: Room comfort, good bar food and local beer.
Location: Great locaion for a peaceful night or two. Close to Dorchester and Weymouth. Good country walks.
A very late booking after walking out of our originaly booked hotel as it was quite frankly well below expectations, not as advertised! We also had the problem of finding somewhere that would take dogs, we were left with only three choices, two were over £200 for the night, by default we chose The Fox Inn, and what a choice! Its situation is perfect, you can't hear any road traffic and also very little light polution, perfect for a last night of our holiday. The welcome was warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble, they also loved Elsa our Great Dane for which she reciprocated. We had dinner in the bar rather than the restaurant, great atmosphere, food and beer. The locals are very friendly. In the morning we took the dog for a lovely walk down a few foot paths, beautiful countyside. We have stayed in many different hotels through holiday and work and the Fox Inn is up there with the very best. It's no four star hotel but it hits the spot if you want to have a restful stay away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. We'll be back very soon. We strongly recommend you try it out.

Warm welcome, friendly informative landlordPosted Sep 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
We all loved the Fox Inn. The present owners have only been there 10 weeks and have decorated the outside (plus, I understand some of the bedrooms). We liked the fact there was a poor signal there - it meant we couldn't be pestered by phones! Although I think the owner is putting things in place to improve this. The food was amazing - smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for breakfast! We found the owners to be very accommodating and informative. On a walk on our first day we came across friendly local neighbours who were happy to add to information about local places of interest. We will be returning - a super place :)

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Fox Inn and hope to return sometime in the future. We loved the location; we could sleep with the windows open it was so gloriously quiet and found the neighbours friendly and full of useful information. The Fox Inn was spacious, welcoming and the food was wonderful - the pies amazing and the smoked salmon and scrambled egg absolutely delicious. The landlord was helpful and accommodating. It's work in progress with decorating the Inn; he's only been there 10 weeks and had already done a fair bit. A great place to spend quality time with the family. Thank you :)

Pleasant stay, delightful surroundingsPosted Aug 19, 2013
In no doubt that the new owners will make a big success of the fox - our visit was marred by a very disappointing evening meal but we found out that this was due to the chef's absence that evening for a family emergency. Good breakfast, delightful surroundings and comfortable accommodation (we were in one of the non-upgraded rooms) coupled with a positive and engaging attitude from the owners means we'll be visiting in future.

Away from it all !Posted Aug 16, 2013 on Hotels.com
Once we discovered the actual location of the Fox Inn ( good fun these single track roads ) we enjoyed a good nights sleep followed by a tasty breakfast in the morning. Our room was clean and comfortable, the staff very friendly and welcoming and altogether a very good location to explore Dorset.
