Pretty average in every respect

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: It sounds overly critical, but technically everything could do with a bit of a spruce up.
Location: Well located for the sea front and within walking distance of the town centre.
First off the bits of our stay which would constitute a recommendation. The hotel is well located and was relatively inexpensive. The room was clean enough not to feel uncomfortable and cleaned regularly. The facilities available were okay and it would be unfair to describe our overall experience as bad. It is worth stating that I believe the room we were given was by no means their best, as the member of staff who booked us in was slightly apologetic we couldn't be found another room for the two nights we stayed. The tea and coffee making facilities were almost useless and whilst I know this isn't entirely uncommon, they were really very bad. The bathroom was fine, but the lack of water pressure was annoying. The bed and room decor were okay. The hotel staff were perfectly pleasant to speak to but no-one we spoke to really seemed interested in what they were doing. Overall The Montague is fine but that says it all really.

A very disappointing stay

Posted Aug 15, 2014
The hotel need a complete inside renovation. It looks all pretty from outside but inside it is really an outdated hotel(very weird carpet colour and old, very tiny reception and horrible dining. The room we had is terrible( old mattress , it took ages to get the water temperature ok in the bathroom.do not how AA rated it as a 3 star hotel.the AA inspector was either drunk or made to drink more than enough before giving out the rate. Please stay away and a bit pricy as well. I am not recommend it to any one. Please, please stay away

Nice quite little hotel close to the beach /town

Posted Aug 7, 2014
Pros: Close to the beach and town facilities. Although Bournemouth restaurants are a bit touristy this Hotel is also good for Westbourne's restaurants
Great breakfast too, very helpful staff. Also close to Westbourne which has better retaurants than Bournemouth

Cheap/ does the job

Stayed here for a friends wedding. Was a steal B&B on a July weekend for £45 per night. Hotel had everything and breakfast was generous though basic. Unfortunately, the water supply broke down so no water, then only cold water to get ready for the wedding. Just bad timing though as fixed in hours and next day shower was ok! If you get a good deal on this hotel like myself, don't hesitate to book. If you want to park your car. Get there early, limited spaces! However would pay more than that. If so the premier inn would be better value for money.

Business Stay

Posted Jun 9, 2014
Pros: free parking.
Cons: I have a list
Location: near the beach
I stayed 3 nights and I was hoping for a better experience from Best Western, the hotel details said free hi-speed Wifi, however when I mentioned it the staff they let me check several rooms which all seems to have no or little connectivity. I only had a bath in my room and the floor creaked like hell, and so did next doors at 11:30 at night !!! Also the restuarant staff seemed to go home before I finished my tea and I was hoping to enjoy a desert which I could not order..not very good, I shall not be booking again.
