Loved the leisure facilities.Posted Dec 1, 2014
The hotel was very nice, the decor was lovely and the room was clean. I particularly enjoyed using the pool, sauna and steam rooms. Nice breakfast too.

Not bad, but not that goodPosted Oct 30, 2014
Pros: Excellent staff, both helpful and friendly.
Cons: The room which was old, tired and shabby (room 23).
Location: It's a tourist town, plenty of shops and activities to enjoy all year round.
Disappointing sums up my stay at the Connaught Hotel and all because of the room. Firstly the good points - the staff were really great and a special mention goes to Nuno in the bar who was especially helpful and courteous despite being run off his feet. Also the décor downstairs in public areas was very stylish and attractive, and the restaurant food was good. It was the room that was hugely disappointing. I got the impression the rest of the hotel and public areas might have been recently renovated and/or redecorated but that they hadn't bothered with the room which felt dated and well worn. Apart from the dated furniture, the 'king size' bed was actually two singles pushed together with some kind of bedding to wrapped around to make them into a larger bed. The seals around the windows had quite a lot of black in and on them (mould?) both in the room and the bathroom. Also the shower was feeble. The owners of the hotel need to extend the standard of the public areas to the rooms as the room felt old and shabby (walking between the public areas and the room felt like walking into a different hotel). Bournemouth is full of hotels so my advice would be to pick a different one for now.

Good Hotel on the West CliffPosted Oct 21, 2014
Pros: Its location, decor and the fact that it was extremely clean.
Cons: More drawers to but your clothes in and a shelf over the washbasin for toiletries.
Location: The hotel is located 5 minutes walk from the seafront and there are two good Italian restuarants 5 minutes walk in the other direction.
On arrival our friends and ourselves were upgraded to a room with a balcony. The room was nicely decorated buy not overly large. The ensuite was a shower room with plenty of room and everything was spotlessly clean. There was bottled water on the bedside table and tea/coffee facilities in the cupboard under the desk. The one downside in the room was if you were staying more than a couple of days there were not enough drawers to put your clothes in. The staff were friendly and efficient and nothing was too much trouble for them. The breakfast was excellent with a wide variety on offer. The cooked food was delicious and piping hot and was served by the waiter from the buffet. We had our evening meal in Blakes restuarant, surfice to say if the Head Chef is not on don't bother. Would we stay at this hotel again? Definitely.

We were staying at the hotel overnight as we were going to see Caro Emerald in concert at the BIC. The hotel staff were very friendly and the hotel overall was excellent.

Nice hotelPosted Sep 16, 2014
Clearly a lot of money has been spent on the public areas. Rooms are nice but perhaps not quite to the standard of other parts of the hotel. Staff were excellent in all areas and the room was cleaned to a high standard each day of our 4 day visit.

Very pleasantl surprised,Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: Very friendly and clean
Cons: Air Con is a must we really needed this.
Location: Located near the beach, the shops and the peir
There were a group of 15 of us all spent a few days a Best western Connaught Bournmouth last week the first week in August. The hotel was pleasant, the staff fantastic and were very accommodating and very helpfuly all the time. The facilities at this hotel were very good, the jazzuci, swimming pool, steam room and sauna were very clean and bright. I would recommend this hotel for a short break or even a longer stay, and it was very near to the beach.
