Beachside Accommodation

Posted Jan 26, 2015
Pros: Double room very spacious, and clean.
Cons: Parking limited, and not a great deal of choice other than the £10/24hr offer; an automatic £100 penalty if you register your car late or stay over.
Location: If the beach is not to your liking, then the Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum is a must-see, particularly for its Victorian architecture and story.
Booking in welcoming and smooth. Set menu provided very good, although needed warming up; only 2 plates out of 5 arrived hot, but politely resolved.

Beautiful hotel and a wonderful experience

Posted Jan 15, 2015
Absolutely loved our superior room with sea view. We travelled from Leicester an. Arrived late eveving our service right from checking in to the moment we left was very high.Adrian on reception greeted us and wished me Happy Birthday, the sole reason why we had a break away to the coast. We were shown our room and was given a fruit platter as a gift which put a smile on my face. It was the small detail that the staff put in to make our stay comfortable. We couldn't fault anything. The room was tidy and spacious, the view was just beautiful to look at any time of the day. The food was great the only downfall was me and my husband are Muslim and can only eat halal, and there was no halal option. We ate the hotels signature fish and chips which I must say is the best I have ever tasted! Another superb desert they do is their homemade hot sticky toffee pudding which I ordered 6 times in 3 days. Explains the half stone weight gain but it was just lush! We are coming back once its warmer as the weather was awful. I want to thank Mark, the restaurant manager who gave us wwonderful service and to Adrian for making our stay a wonderful experience. The staff are very polite and made great conversation. See you very soon. Thank you Marriot High Cliff x Rabia and Ali Bashir x

Good and not so good

Posted Jan 1, 2015
Our overall impression of this hotel was good, only a few notes for the management! Our room had a lovely sea view and was large and comfortable, if not a little dusty and dated. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and the location of the hotel itself is second to none with fantastic views over the beautiful beach. We used the pool, sauna and steam room and overall these were good but the ladies changing rooms were dirty (the floors mainly) with wet/used towels laying on the floor by the door as you walked in. The hotel bar was not the best ambience, with slow service although the staff were very pleasant and breakfast was good but self-service in any case. On our first day in the bar we asked for a sandwich to share with chips and got a sandwich to share with crisps - this needs explaining in the menu as we heard someone else comment on this - we were both expecting chips not crisps (to be expected in America but not the UK!). On arrival in our room there were no towels or bath robes so we had to phone down to Reception to bring them up. Overall a very nice hotel but not perfect by any means.

Pleasant Two Night Stay

Posted Dec 31, 2014
Pros: Location
Comfortable room, hotel in an excellent location. Breakfast enjoyable although would have appreciated a greater choice of fresh fruit. Breakfast plates were hot one morning but not the next. Car park does get very busy - they don't tell you this when you book or make it clear that the pay & display system doesn't apply to residing guests. Given the shortage of spaces perhaps they should restrict the car park usage to hotel guests only. Some of the car parking spaces are very tight. I would consider staying at this hotel again but probably not in peak season because of the difficulties trying to park returning from a day out.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback following your recent stay at the Marriott Highcliff Hotel. I am plesased that your overall stay was relaxing and enjoyable. I regret that our lack of parking so negatively impacted your stay but we will continue to try various solutions to this challenge as we anticipate peak periods across our business. Kindest Regards, Hugh

2 day break

Posted Dec 23, 2014
Pros: Quiet seafront position and nice staff
Cons: Having a small coffee table and chair to sit at in the bedroom and having bath robes provided
Location: Loved being right on the cliff path and not far to walk to the gardens and bars
The bedroom was so small felt like a single room with a double be squashed into it but great view. Did contact reception about the room size ( a box room) offered a larger room but standard of the room inferior, no coffee table or chair and one small window overlooking the sea.

Marriott highcliff Bournemouth

Check in crashed and we was turned away on arrival didn't get our room key until 4pm, shower was cold water and room temperature was in general cold with no remedy and this was in a mild November, not worth the money and as a frequent hotel user I would rather have been in a premier inn for comfort and decor

Hotel very tired and definitely not worth the mone

Posted Nov 8, 2014
Very overpriced for the offering the only reason this was given a 2 instead of a 1 was the breakfast which was very good. All rooms need updating and hotel looks very tired not worth the premium price!

We stayed overnight for a family birthday being held locally. Great access to the beach and a short walk to the shops and the BIC. Hotel staff very helpful and pleasant. We would book again.
