I was generally pleased with the hotel and breakfast.

“Rest & Recuperation”

After a tireing journey it was nice to relax in a pleasent hotel. Having viewed the dinning room and menu my wife and i decided to have our evening meal there, we were not disapointed in either the food or cost of the meal.

“Hotel's”

They were having problems with the heating and the hot water, not surprising on the coldest day of the year, we were asked to wait whilst a member of staff checked the room's, they did not have an equivalent room so we were up graded as it was there fought. The problem was sorted out simply and quickly its a morning the Cliffside hotel on the 3rd Jan did not see the water leak which woke us up in the early hours of the morning as it dripped its way down from the ceiling to the window seeland then on to the floor soaked everything in its way, the Knight Porter when I woke him up, told me he could not move us and we would have to wait until the staff arrived in the morning so we were left in the same room till the morning. When I went down in the morning and spoke to the staff they had not been told that a problem had occurred during the Knight. When I asked them what they were going to do about this they told me that I booked by Expedia and Expedia would have to sort out it out. So please would you sort this out for me. My stay was between the 3-6 January 2012. I have stayed in some of your other hotels in the past few months and the treatment of the management and the rest of the staff was very poor. I hope to here from you shortly to resolve this problem. Thankyou

“Dated hotel, clean but just too hot in the room”

Oppressively hot in the room, despite it being February. If you want something cheap then it's ok

“A mixed bag”

As a previous reviewer said the rooms were unbearably hot which led to a poor nights sleep. Reception staff very friendly and helpful, dining room staff the complete opposite. Overall not a bad place for one night but I don't think I could spend a week there.

“ok for an overnighter”

this is a basic hotel,room was spotlessly clean,for what we paid for 1 nights b&b it was fine but would not want to use for a longer break

“Hope you don´t want to shut the window”

We travelled to Bournemouth on the Airshow weekend, and the town was very busy. That may have had some bearing on the parking problems we experieced. We had to park at a sister hotel and carry our luggage down the road. The room was somewhat shabby and when I tried to close the windows to shut out the traffic noise, I realised we had no window catches at all, they were all broken off and lying on the ledge below the window. Bedding and towels nice and clean and new,

“Don't do it!”

I had paid an upgrade on the stay and I was very dissappointed. The room was noisy and overlooked the back of the hotel and boilers etc. The room was too warm and the breakfast was tasteless. We felt as though we had entered an old peoples home.

“Worst hotel I had ever stayed in”

The Heathlands was the worst hotel i had ever stayed in. From the moment i arrived things were bad. The wrong dates had been booked dispite my booking ref having the correct details. The first room we were given on the first floor was disgusting and filthy, the carpet was full of big stains, the furniture had stains, tiles hanging loose from the ceiling, old portable television, old furniture, bathroom was filthy, cracked sink, toilet had not been cleaned. The windows were so full of dirt you could not see out. Outside the room was a torn piece of carpet which had been patched up. When complained got moved to a slightly described as more modernised room up the corridor. Again the bathroom was dirty, plastic toilet seat which had not been fixed properly and moved, windows again filthy and the view from the room showed dumped bed linen on the floor outside which members of staff were complaining about. The whole place was filthy. After returning back to the hotel on the first night was greeted by someone having been sick on the reception steps with a bucket of water been used to try and clean it up. The receptionist didn't seem that bothered. Breakfast was not the best either, food was cold and coffee and tea was stewed and staff were not particulary helpful. On day two we checked out early as couldn't stay in such a dirty hotel. The normal rate for the hotel was not cheap, i checked into a hotel near by which was top class and same price. I have since received a full refund.
