Hell

Only unfortunately got as far as the lobby but that was bad enough. Booked with expedia last November needed a hotel near the beach as we collect my disabled mother in her wheelchair from her nursing home and push her down to the front. Arrived to be told they had no rooms for us and we were being relocated to the carrington house. Showed my booking and told them they were still selling rooms on the website. Aggressive and smirking receptionist said that Britannia had a problem with its website and were still taking bookings even though they had no rooms. Said they could not have run out of rooms last November when I booked. She accused me of calling her a liar. My sister said we were not leaving as we had booked this hotel. She laughed and told us to get out or she was calling the police. Please note we are two middle aged degree educated women with two children. We did not use one expletive we just refused to move. We felt we had no choice but to go to the carrington house as they had our credit card details. We were exhausted I had travelled from Ireland my sister from the north of England. I had chosen this hotel for the parking (getting mum in and out of her wheelchair) and convenience of the facilities we required. Just to say our four day break was ruined. The carrington house hotel had minimal parking, we parked on the road two evenings. It was at the top of the hill and twenty minutes from the beach. It was a hostel for students. I'm too upset to say anymore.

Disappointing experience

Posted Apr 18, 2014
Pros: The staff were okay and the shower was hot with good water pressure but that was about it
Cons: Please see my account of my experience - cleaning for me would be the priority. Give the bathroom floors a industrial clean.
Location: 10 minutes walk from Bournemouth rail station and 10 mins walk into town.
Booked this hotel as we were attending a retirement do in one of the function rooms there. When we booked on line we selected and booked a 'double room' option. When we actually got to into the room we found that it was a twin room and the beds had been pushed together. We were lucky that the function went on until quite late and we checked out early next day as the TV had no remote and didn't actually work. The room was of a large size along with a large bathroom - but the room was a little dated (in need of refreshing) but the bathroom floor was absolutely filthy. You felt as though you had to put your shoes on when you got out of the shower to stop yourself having dirty feet. Breakfast-had adequate cereal choice, but the cooked food on the buffet left a bit to be desired. Some of the products like the eggs and hash browns were cold.

Good Hotel close to all amenities

Posted Mar 23, 2014
Pros: Parking on arrival was very good, with disabled bay close to doors. Very pleasant rooms and excellent staff.
Cons: The only thing that could be improved are the TV's which are a bit dated, but whislt we were there they were being updated to new ones.
Location: 2min Drive into town (or 10min walk). 2nd row back from seafront and close to pier and all shopping. Good restaurants close by.
On arrival staff were very helpful, we arrived early but as our room was ready was allowed to check in straight away. Room was very comfortable and roomy. The food at the hotel was very good, full buffet English breakfast, hot and plenty to choose from. The staff were very attentive at all times and would recommend to all age groups.

Pleasant stay, good rates

Pleasant stay, clean and comfortable rooms. Breakfast not very good- cooked breakfast shrivelled up bacon, tasteless scrambled eggs, hard sausage. The hotel was fine for 1 night.

Budget hotel but good for a budget or if you just want a place to sleep, didn't use other services so can't comment on those.
