Not far from the beachPosted Oct 16, 2013
Pros: location, parking, clean and tidy good for children big room
Cons: a lick of paint on the outside would improve the general look of the hotel.
Location: only an 8 min drive to the beach. Also around the corner is the remains of a castle which is nice to visit. If you are travelling on the ferry
Although the hotel looks a bit shabby from the outside we found the accommodation adequate for what we wanted. We have two small children and have stayed there twice now. The rooms are clean and tidy and nice and warm. There are extra facilities if you wish to have a bath rather than the shower that is in your room. The breakfast is crossiants and bananas and yoghurts and orange juice in cartons which is fine for people on the move. The staff are nice and friendly. Do not let the outside put you off as for the price this is good value. It also has parking outside and is only an 8 min drive to the sea front

Budget-friendly accommodationPosted Sep 16, 2013 on Hotels.com
I booked this hotel because I needed a budget-priced room on my way to a nearby destination in Dorset. The room fulfilled all my expectations; it was clean with a comfortable bed, TV and tea/coffee making facilities. My only minor criticism would be that the car park is very small and therefore guests are very unlikely to secure on the the first-come-first-served places. That having been said, the local on-street parking was in a pleasant residential neighbourhood and was readily available.

OK for one nightPosted Aug 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel was quite hard to find because it was in a back street. The down beat pub was compensated by a very nice and helpful person behind the bar. The room was quite freshly, although basically decorated. The process was well explained and you were welcome to use car parking (minimal but free parking on street). Being over a pub didn't cause any disturbance - it was very quiet. Bit of a trek into town with hills but ok if you're a walker. "Continental" breakfast provided and taken in room. It's left on table on landing in the morning and isn't very good. I love breakfast so it was a disappointment and we had a cup of coffee (lots of instant stuff left for you in room) and a processed croissant and headed off into town - where there are lots of cafes and coffee shops.

Interesting roomPosted Aug 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
We had a room in the turret which made for an interesting shape to the room. Breakfast was on a tray on the landing and was fine for the two days we were there.

Double bed size is good for one personPosted Jul 28, 2013
Cons: the bed and the breakfast
The bed was uncomfortable and noisy, impossible to sleep on it. Good for one person but not for a couple. Breakfast was poor and not enough ( 3 small croissants to 2 person , 1 orange juice, 1 apple and 1 banana per each person). The area is very nice and quite, but there is nothing nearby.
