Nice but basic

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Very clean and friendly helpful owner, advantage of parking on site. However full breakfast very basic nothing special. Room was very, very hot but thankfully they provided a fan as you could not open windows because noise of traffic. There was no running hot water in sink (it ran cold) so was told to use water from the kettle if needed! !! That really needs sorting. ..overall ok

A modern approach to the traditional B&B

Posted Jun 26, 2014
Pros: It's position close to the beach. It's clean and bright d├ęcor. Good breakfast. Easy walking distance to the town and harbour. A car park to the rear.
Cons: Personally I would prefer deeper pillows, and decaf coffee at breakfast in a caffetiere, please.
Location: Close to the beach, lots of good restaurants and cafes close by. Nice walk along Esplanade to town and harbour. Nothe Fort very interesting.
The hotel was clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. We were welcomed and told about the rules, breakfast and where the good places to eat were in Weymouth. Breakfast was good and we were given a wide choice. Our bedroom was comfortable, and we had a very useful fan as the room was sunny in the evening and got quite warm.

A Stay that I would cherish for long!!

Posted Apr 27, 2014
I had stayed over this guest house with my wife over the Easter weekend. From the moment we stepped into the guest, we were treated like a family member. We have heard before about couples running a guest but have not experienced so far. Glad to have to experienced first at St Johns. Upon our arrival, Justin and Jade gave us a detailed overview of Weymouth. They asked our likes and provided their suggestions. Things to do/eat. Then about the rules and regulations of the guesthouse. Breakfast timings, safety norms etc. We stayed in Room 11.. The top most... Room was very nice and clean.. Things were explained to us in such great details that we did not have to bother anybody. The best part of the guesthouse will be the peaceful ambiance. We were never bothered for anything. We had the keys for main door.. We walked in/out as per our will. Overall definitely a 5/5 experience.. And we will love to visit again.

Exactly what was needed.

Cons: Nothing !
Location: Weymouth really is a wonderful place to visit, the actual beach in Weymouth cannot be faulted with its golden sand and good clean facilities.
Had a couple of nights at St Johns with my wife and two daughters, great family room, actually two separate adjoining rooms, both with TV/DVD so we could both watch a nice film from the guest houses large collection available. Incredibly warm welcome and goodbye, room and other facilities were spotless and the breakfasts were very well cooked and of good portion. Great location, easy to find and with free parking and wifi what else could you need ?

Nice but basic

Posted Oct 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel was nice and clean, the room was adequate but fairly basic. I did not have the breakfast so can't comment. My main criticism of this hotel is the parking being round the back with no through access, although I was helped when I checked in on check out I had to lug heavy bags and a laptop round the front of the hotel down a side street and round to the car park, all in heels! Also if you go out in the evening you would have to walk round to the front in the dark not ideal if you are a woman travelling alone.
