“Pleasantly surprised”

After reading some reviews on this hotel, I was a bit apprehensive.On arrival I was pleasantly surprised.This is a very good example of how good a three star hotel can be,beautiful views,a quiet,yet handy location,very friendly and very polite staff and the rooms,comfortable and spotlessley clean.If I am in this area again I wont hesitate to book this hotel and relive some very pleasant memories.Parking is no problem and ooh,the breakfast is out of this world.Five,well deserved stars!!!!!!!

“good value stay”

my wife and i was very pleased with our stay , staff seemed very friendly , our only gripe with the room was that it was very hot at times , Our breakfast was also very good , overall it was a good value stay

“Cheap and Cheerful!”

Rooms are basic but the price (room only) was very good. Breakfast was large and tasty but a bit expensive at £10.

“Good price, perfect location, basic but friendly”

We were wary of staying here after seeing a few bad reviews, but it really isn't that bad. The staff are friendly and courteous, the rooms are comfortable, and the location to central bournemouth and the seafront is perfect. The breakfast was excellent. The rooms are basic and the hallways could do with a bit of modernising - but we paid extra for a sea view and it was well worth it. It's not the most hip and happening place, but we were out and about most of the time anyway so only had a couple of drinks in the bar, which was fine. This hotel is part of a chain of three - all next door. The middle hotel was a bit louder - the Cliffeside is the quiet one which suited us fine. We didn't eat in the restaurant in the evening but did eat in the cumberland - the sister hotel two doors down, which was excellent. A good company, a good set of 3 hotels catering for all, and we were happy with our stay.

“Over the cliff but need car or walking legs”

Good upmarket set of hotels on overcliff drive, which is not in Bmth centre ... so a 15 min walk uphill from the pier. But close to buses (none run along Cliffeside Drive though) and free parking. Hotel was packed with grey hairs, so massive help yourself buffet breakfast - good food - was like sitting in retirement village. The lift only holds two people so sometimes better to take stairs.

“Good value for money”

This hotel represents good value for money. Rooms are not luxury but they are clean and comfortable. Good location on the cliff top and it is within walking distance of Bournemouth. You may want to get a taxi back however as it is uphill all the way back. Breakfast was very good and bar food but we didn't try the restuarant as they stopped serving dinner at 8.30pm.

“Friendly placxe”

Cliffeside is one of three hotels owned by the same company,Suncliff and Cliffeside are not kept in such good condition, The Cumberland having had more $$ spent on it is better kept.. The front desk staff are amazing, helpful and fun also very kind and helped me through a very difficult time during the death of my Aunt.Some of the serving staff in the restaurant need to improve their English so as to serve the customers better, that said there was one young lady whose English was great and so was her personality.The b iggest problem is the elevator , it is tiny and not pleasant to ride in , also my room was quite dark and the paper was peeling off the ceiling and wall, so that was not very nice. Would I stay again , yes because of the front desk staff.

“Very good for a 3 star hotel”

Single room was compact but comfortable, clean and in good repair, especially the bathroom. Also the room was quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful.
