Great Place To StayPosted Aug 22, 2014 on Hotels.com
The service was second to none, nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff who made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The breakfasts are well cooked and presented and very substantial, they fill you up for the day. We would recommend The Grove Arms to anyone visiting the area.

Had one night at the Grove and found the whole experience very good. Had lunch and an evening meal which were both excellent. Lovely rooms with comfortable beds and a tasty breakfast. Very friendly staff and locals. Will definitely be back. George n Kaz

We were in a front room on a hot night so had windows open, and the road was very noisy. Otherwise, excellent.

Decent place for an overnight stayPosted Aug 15, 2014
Pros: I think it is good value for money and a clean, practical and basic bed and breakfast hotel with the bonus of having a very nice lounge bar.
Cons: I would prefer a proper duvet - the synthetic ones never help me sleep.
Location: near to many wonderful places, Shaftsbury, Blandford Forum, Corfe Castle, Lulworth Cove and the Jurassic Coast
This is basically a nice pub with fairly simple hotel rooms above, so if you're looking for any kind of service - go to a proper hotel; but for an overnight stay, instead of a B&B this is a pleasant place with friendly staff and clean, fairly basic rooms in a location a little near the main road but reasonably quiet otherwise.

What happened to breakfastPosted Aug 8, 2014
Pros: The hotel and restaurant were fine and the room was fine for one night stay.
Cons: Not providing a breakfast that was included in the price was very disapointing
Location: dont know
Breakfast was supposed to be 0730am but the room was locked and no one was there. I left at 0750am as I got fed up of waiting. Very strange.

Highly Enjoyable stayPosted Aug 7, 2014 on Hotels.com
Booked here as attending a wedding nearby. We arrived quite late and the was a musician playing and they were offering free nibbles at the bar as it was recently under new management and they were throwing a celebration. Service was friendly and welcoming, rooms decent size which all the essentials, comfy bed. Breakfast was very good, excellent locally sourced bacon sausage and black pudding. Manager even lent us an umbrella as there was a flash storm! Would recommend

I needed a hotel close to Shaftesbury and having stayed here previously a few years ago I knew more or less what to expect. The single room was ok for an overnight small and clean but with only a hanging wardrobe lacking any facility in the way of cupboard space. I ate at the hotel in the evening, the choice and quality of food perfectly fine as was breakfast the following morning. However when you order tea you receive a teapot of hot water to go with a single teabag in your cup. I do not understand why you cannot receive a conventional pot of tea. Clearly they do not wish to have the work of cleaning teapots.

Quaint littly place, great for an overnight stop. Food was ok, en-suite a tad dated/weary & my bed was very stiff.
