The Kiwi hotel - in need of some TLC

The hotel was basic with a strong lived in feel and in serious need of an overhaul. It did have great potential and compared to other hotels in the area offered good value for money. The staff seemed friendly and the receptionist did carry my bag up the stairs for which I was very grateful as there was no lift and I was right at the top of the building in the farthest room from the stairs. The room was clean though tired and dated and fresh towels were provided each day. I could not fault the cleaning staff and their diligence and attention to detail or the serving staff who were friendly efficient. The staff really seemed to make this place and it was a real shame that the building did not live up to the same standard. There was some loud banging in the early hours of Tuesday night that was a little frightening and the room offered no way to contact the front desk without leaving it which was a little concerning as I was traveling alone but otherwise the hotel seemed peaceful and safe. I did find out that the hotel had just been bought and I hope that a full overhaul of the building is on the cards. If they could bring it into this century I would be more than happy to return there.

Kiwi Hotel Bournemouth

In need of complete refurb. Room up 3 flights of stairs and no lift. Room was ok. En suite a tight fit. Missing light bulb from bedside light. On the plus side the food was good and dining room nicely set up with white cloths and cloth napkins. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Short walk from the sea. Would recommend for short, reasonably cheap stay.
