Couldn't ask for anything morePosted Dec 1, 2013
Pros: Clean Comfortable Good shower Tea and coffee facilities (herbal teabag so may need to pop a couple in your case if you like good old English tea)
We used this hotel for the christmas market. It is perfect for exploring the city. The market starts less than 100yards away and had over 300 stalls. There was something for everyone and the shops are really good from Primark to Ralph Lauren the hotel was spotless the staff were friendly. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel but there are 3 bakery/cafés on the doorstep. I would not hesitate using this hotel again.

Obscure location, but close to train stationPosted Sep 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
Front door opens inwards which was different. You had to go up elevator to reception and then up to room. Room was adequate and had a kettle for coffee or tea. Only had breakfast available so had to find a spot to eat on my own. Could stay there again.

Good hotel in a good locationPosted Aug 28, 2013 on Hotels.com
The Mercure is very well situated in the centre of Dortmund. The staff were all helpful and able to communicate in different languages. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. The price was reasonable.

Good Hotel!Posted Apr 26, 2013
Pros: Friendliness and helpfulness of the reception staff was my best impression of the hotel
Location: Great location for getting around the city centre, and within close proximity to the railway station.
Great position within the City Centre. Rooms were clean and modern. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again if visiting Dortmund

Very friendly staff. Hotel is located in the middle of Dortmund so the area was not the cleanest and the view from the room was pretty depressing. Public transport right in front of the hotel and the main train station easy to reach by foot. Hotel is good for overnight if you need to get somewhere in Dortmund or nearby but wouldn't recommend it for a longer holiday.

Expensive internet accessPosted Oct 28, 2012 on Hotels.com
A decent business hotel in a very good location. Let down by the high cost of internet access.

We recommend it!Posted Aug 6, 2012
Very convenient location near the hauptbahnhof and the shopping district. Cordial staff. Wi-fi in the lobby worked well. Our double room had a very comfortable bed and contained all the necessities for our one-night stay in Dortmund.

Centrally located MurcurePosted Jun 29, 2012
Pros: The Bed was very comfortable with and extra duvet.
Cons: The shower/tub was a bit high and slippery when wet, making one very cautious getting out.
Location: The location is perfect especially if you're traveling by train. In the heart of the city surrounded by shopping, bakeries and restaurants.
The Mercure is centrally located in the heart of Dortmund, with easy access to transportation including the Hbf which is just a short walk away. We chose this Hotel because of the proximity to the Hbf which was very convenient traveling by train from Dortmund to the Dusseldorf Airport. The hotel offers a free business center for guest which enabled us to check our flights and print boarding passes. Our room was just as pictured. It was comfortable and quiet. We were pleasantly surprised to find a mini fridge in our room and enjoyed having the coffee and tea pot as well. There is a safe for guest at the front desk, not in the room as mentioned. We found the bed to be very comfortable with an extra duvet if you need it. The only negative is we had to ask two days in a row for an extra towel. There were two of us in the room and only one towel. We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel only because the Mercure is surrounded by numerous bakeries and restaurants.
