Hotel in DortmundPosted Nov 26, 2013
Modern reception area unlike rest of the hotel which is a bit dated. As has been mentioned in previous reviews of the hotel there are stains on the carpets in the hallways. but the rooms are clean and tidy. Our twin room was more like an apartment with a large bedroom, lounge, bathroom and small kitchen area(the hob was disconnected). There was also a balcony. Staff were very helpful and a really nice continental breakfast which catered for early and late risers 630-1030. Dortmund is a pleasant town, lots of trees, nice shops and xmas market. The zoo was a real find and well worth a visit along with Signal Iduna park (football ground).
close to U BahnPosted Dec 24, 2012 on Hotels.com
Public areas smelt strongly of curry and smoke. Room very basic but close to U Bahn and very easy to get to the Christmas Market

Think CarefullyPosted Dec 12, 2012 on Hotels.com
The hotel was relatively easy to find and about 5 minutes from the main shopping centre. The receptionist was very helpfull .Now comes the worst bit , the hotel was awfull the corridors smelt of disenfectant , the carpets in corridors were very badly stained .The room was basic and in need of refurbishment ,the carpets were stained, the decor was chatty the only good thing was the bathroom. When i returned from a shopping trip the people/family in the room next door were cooking something like curry, the whole place stank, the corridors, the room the bathroom and the smell lingered for hours .The noise was terrible you could hear people in other rooms arguing . I would not stay there again , take my advice and pay a bit more for something a bit more up market .I got the impression that rooms were occupied for long periods by people , maybe DHSS tenants as there were nearly 500 rooms

Clean and comfortable place to stayPosted Dec 10, 2012
Pros: Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, great breakfast
Cons: Maybe in need of a bit of a facelift
Location: In a residential area, close to shops, bars, restaurants and tram system. Always feel safe walking to and from hotel after dark.
Stay in this hotel every year when visiting Germany. An extremely clean and comfortable base from which to explore Dortmund and the surrounding area. Ideally placed for transport links with a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants within walking distance. Buffet breakfast is plentiful both in quantity and variety. I would describe this as a "no frills" hotel, it is by no means 5 star but provides everything you need for a pleasant and comfortable stay. I would definitely recommend and will be booking next time I travel to Dortmund.

Nice and conveniently located budget hotelPosted Dec 7, 2012
Pros: Best thing is the location. 10 mins from the centre of town.
Location: Really convenient; 1 min walk from a central tram line.
My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights in December. The hotel isn't really very modern and the carpets and walls are rather shabby. However, we wanted a budget hotel and the location of this hotel was great. It was around £25 for a taxi from the airport. If you go to the end of the road then there was a regular tram service that took you straight into the centre of town and it was £5 for an all-day travel card with trams running until around 1am. In terms of staff, we only saw the receptionist and a waitress but both were very polite and helpful. Breakfast was a standard continental breakfast. Overall, this hotel is an ideal budget hotel, it is cheap and conveniently located. There is, however, no bar or lounge or anything and so is only really suitable as a crash-pad.

Shabby ChicPosted Feb 12, 2012
Location: A little out of town but okay
Foe a 3.5 star hotel i was very impressed with my room. It was spacious and very clean and comfortable. Despite the fact that the person who checked me in didn't understand english he went out of his way to answer questions with the help of google.

The breakfast is amazing for the price you pay. Easy to access in the center of Dortmund via the public transport. The room was big and somewhat clean.

A smokey stayPosted Apr 27, 2009 on Hotels.com
We chose this hotel due to the reasonable price, and it's location in relation to the Westfalenhallen where we were attending an exhibition. It was very easy to get to from the exhibition hall (it took about 10 minutes). The hotel has a very small car park considering the amount of rooms it appeared to have. On our first night, there were no parking spaces available and we ended up parking in a side road opposite the hotel. However on our second night the car park was almost empty so parking was not a problem. The room was very spacious and had separate living/bedroom areas. Although we requested a non-smoking room on our reservation, we were given a smoking room - and given that the entire hotel smelled of cigarette smoke I am not sure if they do non-smoking rooms anyway! That was one of the things that would put me off staying there again, as the smell was quite overpowering for a non-smoker - especially at breakfast. The room was clean but it looked dirty due to various marks and stains on the carpets. It could have benefitted from a redecoration to make it look a bit brighter and cleaner. However it was just a base for us - we did little else but sleep there - so the clean and comfy beds were all that mattered to us. Breakfast was served between 06.30 and 10.00, and there was a wide range to choose from. I think it was my favourite part of staying there :o) Although there was a bar, the hotel did not appear to offer a restaurant facility.
