Pros: Convenient for travel to Saugatuck. Not really close to town but there is an awesome restaurant right across the street

Quiet hotel yet close to downtown Douglas and both beaches. This was our second stay here. Would definitely recommend.

Pleasantly Surprised

Posted Aug 8, 2014
Pros: Everything!
Cons: I can think of nothing that could be improved.
This hotel totally surprised us. The entire facility was very clean. The front desk staff and all other staff that we came in contact with were more than friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfortable. Great water pressure in the shower. Rooms seemed to be well insulated because we heard nothing while we were in the room and the hotel was pretty full. The free breakfast was very good.

The hotel was quiet and pleasant. The pool, jacuzzi , and complimentary breakfast are a plus for families. Wifi is appreciated. Overall a good experience with no problems. I would stay here again and would recommend this hotel to friends.

Pros: Staff was nice and friendly. Good location to Saugatuck, Douglas, and the highway.
Ice machine had issues....sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. It did require attention from staff in order to get ice. TV reception was sometimes fuzzy and didn't have a clear screen. No major problems and would stay there again.

Front desk mgt rocked it! Cozy place!

Posted Jul 31, 2014
Expedia has this place listed as "all rooms have fireplaces" and that's why we booked it. Upon arrival, we found out that's not true. The pm front desk didn't do much to help and we offered to pay for an upgrade for the fireplace. In the morning, after a great included breakfast, we talked to the front desk manager. She jumped right in it, apologized and upgraded us! We were so thankful that she cared! Breakfast was great, lobby was cozy, rooms are comfortable and hotel is close to everything!

Clean, quiet.

Posted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: Close enough to downtown Douglas, Saugatuck and the beaches but far enough away to be quiet. Friendly staff: front desk and housekeeping. Thanks!
Cons: The WiFi connection was spotty and sometimes non-existent. The only mirror was in the vanity area; I would have liked another in the main room.
This is not a 3 star hotel, but it is a very good basic hotel. The staff was helpful and friendly, the room clean. We had a first floor room facing the back of the hotel with a view of grass and trees which was excellent. We had no issues with noise. Breakfast was not exciting; just the expected basics, including not-too-good sausage patty, scrambled egg patty, bagels, waffle maker, small assortment of boxed cereals, yogurt, apples & oranges. The hard boiled eggs were a nice addition, but since it was blueberry season, having blueberries available would have been a nice, local touch. The orange juice was terribly sweet. They do have a 24 hour prior to arrival cancellation option, which was a big plus for me. Rates were a bit high, I thought, for the amenities, even considering that it is in a popular area for summer tourists. However, I was able to get a reservation for late July only 3 weeks prior to our arrival, and stay only 2 nights. Since most places in this area are fully booked months in advance, require a week's stay and don't have a cancellation refund option, I would certainly come back when a quick get-away is planned.
