Heaven on earth... at the DouroPosted Jun 16, 2014
Pros: Service, the new rooms, the views, the Quinta as a whole.
Location: You can explore the entire Douro region from here. Take a trip on the river (even better with a sailing boat).
This is a place where I could see myself stay for a longer time to relax and calm down. The area is stunningly beautiful and the Quinta overlooks the Douro river. It is also a good place to explore the region. The personnel is great, the new rooms are very nice, and their port and wines are very good. Probably the best place to stay at the Douro! As an example of the good service I just mentioned to them that I thought the bed was a bit hard, and they immediately added an additional layer to the bed making it softer.

excellent stop for wine/port on the DuoroPosted May 13, 2014 on Hotels.com
We stayed three nights at the start of our honeymoon. The location was difficult to find by car if you don't take the highways, but by highway, it is actually pretty easy. You can even take the train to Pinhao and walked 15 minutes to the winery. The room was very simple, but had gorgeous views of the river. We stayed in one of the smaller rooms, so those staying more than a few days should get a larger room. The service was just what we were looking for; extremely helpful when needed without being in your face. We booked the dinner two different nights and it was excellent and included tastings of the wine and port. The dinner was also a great way to meet other guests. We found the Dourosa to be a great table wine for the price and picked up a few bottles of the vintage ports as well. The winery also has a pool, which was too cold when we were there, but is a relaxing area nonetheless. If you walk down to the first restaurant heading down toward the town, you will find a decent lunch at a reasonable price with good views of Pinhao and the river. There are a number of wineries nearby that you can drive to to do tastings, so a car is recommended if you want to do tastings in the valley. Highly recommended for those looking for a relaxing time tasting wines and going about a leisurely day. For those who want more hustle and bustle, it might be best to stay in Porto and visit the port caves (cellars).

Pros: Location, quality of room and the excellent staff.
Location: I recommend taking a walk around the grounds.
We took the train to visit Quinta de la Rosa. It is about one mile walk from the station. The new rooms are wonderful. The food was excellent. The hospitality was superb. Best place to enjoy a port tasting.

Loved it! What a find!Posted Apr 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
Joana was incredibly sweet and helpful. Everything about our time there was just perfect. It was a gorgeous location, the room looked brand new and was beautifully decorated, the port they make is delicious (tour/tasting is included in the rate, as well as a generous breakfast)...I was just searching blind on the internet for a quinta to stay at and ended up being so happy I landed on this one!
