Nice hotel, it's close to everything

Love the hotel was clean the only problem is that our toilet was stopped up but they fix it in no time.... I'm planning for another stay already.

Pros: Size of the room and comfort of the bed. Also the room had a refrigerator.

Dover is not a hotbed of activity. We came for a wedding and chose this hotel because of the good reviews. They are well deserved. You didn't totally feel you were on the side of the road in strip mall land (which you are). And there were warm cookies at night. And the breakfast was great - make your own waffles! Note: The hotel is back from the road - sort of hidden behind another building and in front of Sams Club. We drove by it at first.

Our stay was horrible. First, "Becka" at the front desk was not friendly nor helpful. We checked into the room (around 9 pm) and were met with a strong body-odor SMELL in the room. And there was old TRASH still in the trash basket. The bed was lumpy as if someone had been laying on it. We called downstairs and spoke to "Becka" about our complaints and getting another room. She was not empathetic or helpful at all. She said no other rooms were available and that "oh, sometimes the trash is overlooked" attitude was troubling. She told us that someone would come up with "Febreeze" but we "canNOT keep it". EVENTUALLY, someone showed up and gave us the can of Febreeze - thank God! We also asked for a portable bed but "Becka" said someone is using "it" We ended up sleeping in our clothes because the room wasn't clean or comfortable. To top it off - the SMOKE ALARM came on around 8:30 a.m. the next morning (didn't get to sleep until 3:30 am night b4) It wouldn't stop! So, we got up to check on whether there was a FIRE and if not, we wanted to have breakfast and leave - after being FORCED to get up! We saw some hotel employee in the stairwell who looked like they were from a half-way house. They clearly stated THERE IS NOT A FIRE - BUT, we STILL had to LEAVE THE BLDG! Since there was NO FIRE, we wanted to GRAB something to eat and LEAVE. Well, we were then told that we could NOT eat - EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS NO FIRE! We LEFT early - hungry, sleep deprived, humiliated and RIPPED-OFF!
