Stanky legs

Posted Jun 22, 2014 on Hotels.com
It smelled like cat urine, the microwave/kitchen appliances are in the bathroom and I'm pretty sure there was baby batter everywhere. On the positive side there was a package store next door and a friendlys... Easy to say Ice cream and alcohol helped my friends survive the night.

Not that I had high expectations.. but when I ask in the morning for toilet paper and I get back at 1am, and there is NONE, then told if I must have some, I can come and get it at the front desk!!?? Beds did not get made ( never mind clean sheets). Or towels!!!In a 3 night stay..NOT ONCE!! Phone did not work, neither did the tv. oh and don't mind a big refigeration 16 wheeler, dieseling 10 ft from your room!! oh yes i complained; well "our policy is to allow the trucks to park there!!!" oh and contact your booking site if you want a refund!!! I show dogs, have stayed in some pretty low cost motels, but this one is the PITS!!

A place to lay my head

Posted Jun 16, 2014 on Hotels.com
This is a low cost motel. I found a burn mark on the carpet, plainly from the iron. The breakfast was self-prepare. Waffles, and wrapped pastry. The bed was covered with a sheet and bed-spread. There were no additional linen or blankets in the room. I wasn't disappointed, because I went for low-cost.

Clean but customer service needs attention badly

Posted Jun 9, 2014
Pros: the price on Expedia and being clean
Cons: Desk service
Location: Rehoboth Beach is only 35 min south
Desk clerk checking us in had NO IDEA how to treat a prepaid Expedia reservation. He knew I paid through Expedia but still charged my credit card after numerous mentions to him that I was prepaid. I am an AGM at another hotel chain and know the routine. Upon check out they verified that I was charged twice but was very reluctant to offer me my full and complete refund from the erroneous charge at check in. I left with a mention that I would get a phone call very shortly explaining I received my refund. Hours later and still no call, after having to make 5 more phone calls to the manager and also Expedia calling them (being told they didn't charge my card ~ which was a complete falsehood) did I finally get my refund. Walked into the front office to inquire about a vending machine eta: 11:30PM, clerk said "I don't know but if we do have any they would be at the end of that building" ~ pointing down an alleyway. 1 soda machine not plugged in at all. Was also told I could walk down to the 7/11 about 1 1/2 miles, yeah, 11:30PM. Needless to say, the room was clean, front door very hard to open and close (tight), no channel guide and NO explanation regarding any sort of breakfast. No WiFi, was told ONLY wired, doesn't help if you use WiFi only equipment ~ iPhone, iPad etc...

No room to write everything that went wrong. Dirty, nothing worked, beds not changed or made!! Toilet didn't flush and ran constantly! Condoms in the night stand! TV nor remote nor phone worked! Changed our room and the air conditioner didn't work! Vacuum not run! Oh, there is even more!!!

Close hotel to the Dover Nascar Truck race

Posted Jun 2, 2014 on Hotels.com
I could not believe the excellence in this hotel for the very inexpensive price. Everyone was paying way over $100 that close to the track. So I was very unsure of what I would find when arriving. The room was excellent (bed a little hard) but it was very clean and smelled great. Also, in the am, a contental breakfast was served and it was awesome. This stay was very much appreciated and I WILL STAY THERE AGAIN.

Decent value for a one night stay.

Pros: Good price. Reasonably clean and comfortable room.
Cons: The free breakfast - there was no juice and the direct entry was locked.
The Saturday afternoon manager let me check in early and was very helpful, so we're off to a good start. The room was reasonable and the shower was comfortable. The AC unit worked fine. However, for the "free continental breakfast" on Sunday morning, they kept the direct entrance to the dining room locked, so we had to go around and through the lobby. Then, there was no juice in the juice dispenser!! I can handle cereal, etc. for breakfast as long as there is juice. It was completely empty and there was no staff there to assist. To top it off, as I checked out the Sunday morning manager was lying on the couch rather than behind the desk.

Cheap Hotel

Posted May 24, 2014 on Hotels.com
It was ok, not the greatest or cleanest hotel. They have a lot of work to do. However, if you just need a place to lay your head for fairly cheap while you go out and do things you enjoy, it works.

Budget Hotel Near Some Attractions

Posted May 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
The family that runs this hotel, I can't speak enough praise about as they are too kind. However, the hotel itself is in need of a huge remodeling. The pictures on hotels.com are very deceiving. What I walked into was night and day compared to them. The place smelled like cigarette smoke, although I had requested a non-smoking room; I could hear my neighbors; there was mold along the edge of the tub; the sink knobs needed some serious WD40; the duvet was way too thin and nothing like the comforter pictured; and the extra blanket that was provided smelled like it had never been washed. As I had already paid for my stay, I wasn't in a position to cancel so I could find another hotel, so I had to ride it out. It was not worth the price that I paid... it should have been half the price. The plus side to it, was that it was near everything I needed it to be near... and within an hours drive from the beach, which my experience there outweighed the unpleasant hotel. And their courtyard garden is gorgeous. I sincerely hope the owners consider renovating and soon!
