Beautiful Hotel with History

Posted Mar 22, 2015
Pros: Location, history, interior design, library with printer and books, wi-fi, green building, food, machine for free pictures to e-mail friends, staff
Cons: would love lemon water in the lobby to be there in the morning as well as the evening
Location: museums, hot air balloon rides, shopping, zoo all close
We decided to stay here with our two children, ages 10 & 14, because the hotel we usually stay in in Albuquerque has disappointed us the past two visits. We are so glad we switched. The staff is wonderful and extremely helpful. The renovation is gorgeous and kept the integrity of the history of the building. The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. The whole family just loved it! Highly recommend this for your stay! We found our new home in Albuquerque! *A special thanks to the young lady that confirmed our hot air balloon ride for us without us asking her to and called our room to inform us - service beyond the usual - many thanks!

Tranquil and Quiet

Posted Feb 24, 2015
I was there for a conference. Other's I knew that attended stayed in other hotels and complained of noisy and rowdy people. Didn't hear to much of a peep from anyone. Quaint rooms and great decor, this is one of the best hotels I have stayed at in a long time. Customer service is top-notch.

Beautiful hotel, mgmt/check-in dropped the ball.

Posted Feb 19, 2015
Pros: It's décor.
Cons: Service on managerial level. Why did it take until almost 11pm for our room to be ready when hotel was not close to full? Signage to check-in parking.
Location: Convenient to the university. Close to lots of restaurants and clubs.
The interior of the building and room were beautiful with a Moorish meets modern look. We had reserved in advance a two bed room and late check-in but when we arrived, at around 10pm, we were advised no two bed rooms were available and it would just take a few minutes to prepare a room with an air mattress couch bed for us. All staff were very pleasant but we ended up waiting at least 40 minutes in the lobby for the room and then still had to wait in room while the floors were vacuumed, couch bed was made up, etc. And no tea/coffee service in room although I saw tray for it outside another room next morning. Don't know if this was an oversight in last minute room prep or available only on request. (Seems should be standard for this level of accommodation.) Despite all the above the facility was so beautiful I would try it again with hopes of better preparedness on part of management.

Great Gem of downtown

Posted Feb 2, 2015
Pros: boutique but thrifty, location. the restaurant is to die for.
Location: middle of downtown so if downtown is where you want to be it is perfect. convention center close by.
This was our second visit. the staff, the quarters the restaurant all make this place a real gem. we would recommend not getting the small queen suite unless you are more budget conscience. while it is comfortable it is very small.

Well appointed, beautifully decorated.

Posted Jan 27, 2015
Pros: Decor was beautiful. Little nooks in the lobby under archways, each decorated differently. Pictures do not do justice.
Cons: Can't think of anything.
Location: Right in the heart of downtown, tons of restaurants!
Staff was excellent, above par. Very attentive and accommodating. We were in NM for a funeral service and they allowed us to check in a little early so we could change before the service. We had our dog and they remembered our dog's name over our stay. Food was well presented and tasty. Rooms were cozy. A must do if in Albuquerque. Not your typical chain experience - a breath of fresh, stylish air.

Hotel is downtown close to convention center. Lots of night activity surrounding hotel. Very nice historic hotel. Had Jazz singer when we arrived. Room quiet and very nice upscale as well as the rest of the hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again.
