Dallas visit

Posted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: location, also it looks haunted (but its not)
Cons: IT will be nice to see the hotel after it's renovated.
Location: southside music hall, Deep ellum has some decent dive bars
The location is great, and the hotel is alright if you're just sleeping.

Not what I expected for $130.

First off the hotel was under major construction. Not on an isolated closed floor but on the entire hotel. I love to nap when I arrive at a new location. Well the drilling and hammering put a hiatus on that plan. The area of town was s little shady as well. Panhandling happened to my party on several occasions just outside the lobby. Upon checkout I voiced my displeasure only to be dismissed because I had prepaid.

Not worth $$$

Posted Mar 18, 2015
Elevator is terribly old and scary. Sign says 4 ppl only then you know it's gonna break. Housekeeper banging on the door from 9 am till checkout at noon. Tv only had one channel and was old small tube tv.

bad staff for check-out

Posted Mar 18, 2015
no wi-fi in the room, different from what they promised. The staff refused to correct the mistake in the receipt when check out. Her reason was the receipt was already printed out, meaning the customer had checked out. She could not corrected the mistake for a checked out customer!

Hotel under renovation near Historic West End

Posted Mar 17, 2015
Pros: Staff was good and they had a hot breakfast that was decent. They also served fresh made chocolate chip cookies with milk in the lobby from 5 to 7 pm
Cons: The hotel needs a complete renovation on the inside, and they are working on this.
Location: The hotel is right across only one block from the Historic West End and Dealy Plaza. We attended a conference at the Hyatt which is only about 3 blks
We were disappointed in the condition of the hotel. It is very old and rundown, and our room had one double bed in a very small room with a very small bathroom. The room was clean and the staff was good, but the room was rundown and noisy from road noise and the nearby trains going in and out of union station. The location is very good, but most nearby restaurants are closed on Sundays.

Pros: Breakfast when there was a place to sit.. Ate standing up the last day since every table was full.
Cons: Finish the remodeling of the hotel
Location: Good locaiton
Under renovation now! DO NOT GO. Nosy all day and the rooms look pretty dingy. The Tv is from the 90s but the bathrooms have modern appliances but the bathubs are old? Weird

Run down

Posted Mar 9, 2015
The pictures posted online are misleading. This is a complete dump. The worst hotel I've ever stayed at. The hotel itself is really old, and is in need of a complete overhaul. Unfortunately, those renovations were going on while I stayed there. So there was noise from construction all day. There is no old world "charm" to this place, it's just really old, and smelly. The room is smaller than my ensuite bathroom at home, and the carpet is really old and disgusting. Suffice it to say that this hotel should have been renovated several years ago, and has been badly neglected. I only chose it because it was close to Dealy Plaza. It was the cheapest, and now I know why. The sheets on the bed have a gross smell; the TV is an old and outdated model; the phone barely worked; the shower and bathtub leaked; the sink was plugged, and the bathtub itself was rusted. It wasn't quiet either. Walls are paper thin. The best thing I can say about it is that the fellow who worked the night shift was absolutely charming. Very helpful and kind. But that's about it. The free breakfast even sucked. There was some kind of slop in the warmer that tasted horrible, and the waffles made me ill. DO NOT stay here. Once it's converted into a La Quinta, it might be better. But until that happens, stay away.

Horrible hotel

Posted Mar 9, 2015
It is being remodeled but this is not a nice place. Exposed unpainted sheetrock repair. Demolition 6 days a week. 1 elevator with only 4 patrons at a time very unsafe feeling. Felt like if we touched something it might fall off. Couch had moisture stains on the whole left side, glad i didnt get bed bug bites, wallpaper thumbtacked to wall...think of the movie money pit with tom hanks
