Great location but lacks comfort and organization!

Posted Mar 27, 2015
Pros: location
Cons: they need to warn clients to call for their valet service. they need to make sure each room has a hair dryer. they need to repair their furnace system
Location: everything downtown
My bed room was incredibly noisy. The furnace clanked all night and the sound of the elevator going up and down the shaft was really loud. I could not sleep even when I turned on ambient noise. Finally, in desperation, I closed the door to bedroom and fell asleep on a mini couch in the front room of the suite. When I unfolded my body the next morning I took a shower only to find that the hair dryer was missing. It took awhile to get my hair dryer and so I was racing to get to the airport on time. I texted the valet according to my receipt instructions. When I ran down to hop in my car, they informed me that the texting was no longer available. Now I was really late. I complained to the front desk and they comped my parking $25 and offered a complimentary breakfast. All of which I would have happily paid for in exchange for a good night's sleep. At least the front desk contact was nice. Luckily I made my flight - I raced to my gate just as the plane was loading.

Not worth the money!!!!!

Posted Mar 17, 2015
I was not impressed with this hotel and the money I paid to stay here. I thought I could trust this chain. My family stayed in a Crown Plaza in St Louis, MO for my sons wrestling tournament. So I thought for my daughter cheer comp this was a safe choice. Ceiling had stains and had flaking paint, dirty floors in the bathroom along with stains on the walls. Lumpy beds. Small pool. I was told parking was $10.00 in the morning bill under my door shows $25.00. Staff was friendly when we checked in. Too tired to complain and try to find another hotel for her cheer comp. We will not stay here again

For event at Cobo, can't beat location

Posted Mar 12, 2015
Hotel staff was great. My room was at the end of the hallway and had two rooms on either side of me, with connecting doors. This made for a very loud experience. I heard everything in the hallway and pretty much everything in the adjoining rooms. King bed was very comfortable, but the noise made it hard to sleep. Rooms need updating. If your looking for a reasonably priced hotel, right across from the Cobo Center (Autorama) this is fine.

Close to Joe Luis Arena

Posted Mar 10, 2015
Pros: Location, service, in room dining..salmon burger was delicious and room service good value choices.
Cons: A little confusion in finding the entrance to the hotel lobby and valet parking. It is not on the riverside.
Location: COBO, Joe Luis Arena, walk by the waterfront.
Hotel staff professional, wonderful welcome with cookies and cold water in lobby and live music. View of the water and bridge amazing. Housekeeping staff organised a room with tub with no fuss.

Overall stay

The overall stay was good. The restaurant in the lobby is overpriced and the service is very slow. Ordered over easy eggs..and they were like hockey pucks! The staff was very nice and Starbhcks coffee in lobby. Nice viiew of river and Canada and the GM Building.

Stay away from the restaurants for breakfast. I waited 15 minutes to get a cup of coffee and 30 minutes to get my omelette.

Will Not Return to this Hotel

Posted Mar 1, 2015
Pros: Leaving
Cons: Everything
Location: I Don't know. There was nothing in the room to tell us what was around
The room was very small. The bathroom was tiny and the 3x3 shower was hard to move around in. the 2 foot wide bathroom door was way too small. This room seemed like it was an afterthought when the hotel was finished. The hair dryer was broken and I was unable to set the in room clock. There was no room info with area restaurants. There was no in hotel restaurant and the lounge was extremely small like everything else in the building.
