We have stayed at Hotel Morales for at least 8 years. It is better each time. Staff is always helpful the Bell men are wonderful and the rich interior design can't be beat. Close to the historical buildings and cathedrals and within walking district to the market. I love this place.

I fell in love with this hotel!!! The staff educated us on the history of this hotel and what part it took in the War between the Church, and the Government of Mexico. We learned a lot from the staff at this wonderful hotel. The staff is Top Notch!!! We were taken care of by the staff without any issues...they provided superb service. No request was too much or out of the question. Oh, before I forget...the coffee lovers will love this place coffee! :) There's no need to seek any coffee shop with the awesome coffee they serve. I highly recommend the "Americano"!!! And the food, the food is good too...my wife, and I were impressed. We just didn't have the need to leave to eat dinner...or breakfast.
I highly recommend this hotel to all of the couples that seek a romantic getaway. ;)

"No complaints--totally satisfied with De Mendoza"
I needed a place near the Dellogado Theatre, and this hotel couldn't have been more convenient--right across the street. Check-in was quick, the room was clean, the a/c worked, the water was hot, and the bed as comfortable. What else could one need for one night! I can't comment on the food because I didn't get the opportunity to eat there.

excellent staff...above and beyond (especially Luis)
decent standard room size, the master was amazing
their breakfast is delicious!
it is located walking distance to touristic attractions you just have to walk through the not so pleasant part of town
and honestly we did in fact witness a robbery while walking to a taco stand
simply the hotel and its staff is excellent not the area
we even booked the tours with them...opting for their van tequila tour instead of the train one and we do not regret that decision (Mateo was our guide, super fun guy)

From the moment we walked in and until we left, the staff were fantastic. The location, amenities cleanliness and price are hard to match.
Although minor my only "complaint/suggestion" would be the blinds don't block out all of the light and the toilet backed up twice with very little paper, but they arrived very quickly to remedy.
Lastly, the elevator broke down two or three times during the weekend, but was fixed within a couple hours each time. Still inconvienient.
All in all, I would stay here the next time I'm in Guadalajara.

Portobello Hotel has a great location, you can walk to Chapultepec or to downtown which is one of the hottest spots in the city. Lopez Cotilla is also a block away, full of trendy restaurants. The tren ligero (metro) is just steps away from the hotel entrance... I lived in Guadalajara all my life and this is a great area. The hotel is spotless, it's fairly new so everything is in great condition. If you like silence, ask for a room not facing the street, busy avenues...

It was a business trip, I was attending the Expo ANTAD, really I did´not expend so much time at the Hotel due to this. In my opinion the facility is quite old, but they keep the building in a good shape

Founded by the Spanish in 1542, Guadalajara is rich in culture and history. Home to numerous colonial buildings, museums, parks, theaters, and churches, the city is also the birthplace of mariachi music and tequila. Attractions include Mercado Libertad, said to be the largest indoor market in Latin America, and the resplendent Teatro Degollado, which opened in 1866.
