Great location

Posted Feb 21, 2015
Pros: Excellent location close to the ocean, the malecon, restaurants and shops.
Cons: Would NOT recommend staying during Carnival. VERY loud until at least 3:00am (from an ocean view room). Cost should not increase by 2 1/2 times.
Location: Unique shops, great restaurants, Cathedral, Angela Peralta Theatre, Machado, 11 miles of malecon, bike rentals
A short walk from the hotel takes you to unique shops and great restaurants at the Machado where there is entertainment and vendors in the square on weekends. The Cathedral is breathtaking. Renting bikes and riding along the Malecon was most enjoyable. A shopping trip to the Golden Zone was fun, especially the ride in the Pulmonia. Fabulous ocean view from our room balcony and the rooftop pool and lounge area. Hotel Buffet breakfast was good and had variety each day as well as dishes you could request (omlettes, pancakes, french toast). Serving staff were very friendly and attentive.

Carnivale long weekend stay

Posted Feb 18, 2015
Great location, staff were not very helpful or forthcoming with hotel activities for Carnivale. When asked what my options were to view fireworks , I got very flustered staff who could not explain except to say No I couldn't be in my own hotel rooftop or bar or first floor lobby. We managed to enjoy that evening on the street, when I came back and wanted to go to my room, guards made me wait and I was not happy. Staff and guards were rude. I did not feel welcomed . I would only recommend for location but not for service or staff.

Great hotel. Great Sunsets!

Posted Feb 4, 2015
Pros: I loved the way the old was preserved while the modern was implemented for comfort.
Cons: The wifi service was terrible.
Wonderful location close to everything. Walk to town, beach and restaurants on the Malacon. Watched the sunset every night from either the private balcony or the rooftop pool and bar. Service was always given with a smile and a gracias. Everyone was helpful and friendly, primarily spanish speaking allowing a lot of opportunities to practice the native language. Part of Mexico, not an American hotel.

Historic hotel in old town Mazatlan

Nostalgic hotel full of charm. Best view of old town Mazatlan from rooftop bar and pool. Great place to end the day and watch the sun disappear into the Sea of Cortez.

3 star hotel for a 5 star price

Posted Jan 5, 2015
Pros: The location. The rooftop pool and bar and the views of the ocean. The bar tenders and service on the roof top was very good.
Cons: They could have quieter air conditioners, more comfortable beds and better service from the hotel staff.
Location: Fabulous restaurant located right behind the hotel called Angelina's. Great coffee a half block away on the Malecon called the Looney Bean.
The hotel could do much better in terms of service. The beds were very uncomfortable and the air conditioners are old and loud. However, the hotel is in a fabulous location- great views of the ocean and Malacon. Located in the old part of Mazatlan, and beautiful old historical buildings. Loved the proximity to many fabulous restaurants and art galleries. The rooftop pool and bar area has the best view of Mazatlan. We saw many beautiful sunsets from the rooftop.
