Friendly and helpful staffPosted Mar 16, 2015
Pros: See above
Location: See above
I´ve stayed here 4 times--before and after Golden Zone resorts. All the staff are friendly and helpful--particlarly the front desk. The rooms are basic and always clean. You see wonderful sunsets from the Ocean View rooms. The beach and malecón (great for walking, jogging and bike riding) are across the street. There is some traffic noise but really not intrusive. Various restaurants are very close. Downtown is within easy walking distance.

Rest AssuredPosted Feb 17, 2015
Pros: Everything! The view, the patio ambiance, the front desk resourcefulness was excellent!
Location: The ability to cross the street and literally walking into the beach is fantastic!
My trip was business related but he experience was fabulous! Clean room, excellent customer service. The restaurant downstairs offers delicious meals. I have began to make plans with my husband to vacation in Mazatlán next February and book the same hotel!

MZT JANUARY 2015 TW0 WEEKS AT HOTEL LA SIESTAPosted Jan 30, 2015
Pros: PC for guest use. Friendly staff. Very clean. Pool patio is lovely. Three floors, no elevator. Interior courtyard. Security very tight.
Cons: It's a small, old hotel on the original tourist strip. That's part of its charm. The upgrades and maintenance are up-to-date.
Location: Across the road from beach. Three blocks inland is cultural area, cathedral and market. Bus outside door. Good restaurants on strip.
Upon arrival, handed in copy of Expedia booking, prepaid through Expedia. Senior desk clerk advised new desk clerk how it worked. So, checked in. Only had one bag, so didn't need help to my room. Plus, I've stayed there before. Room 307 is on top floor at the back. A big, airy space with two back windows, one looking onto a neighbor's courtyard - out of a movie set, so pretty. Two weeks flew by. Ruth on reception was very helpful. Had hotel book a taxi to the airport, a driver they knew and price agreed upon in advance, 300 pesos. Safe and fast ride to airport. I plan to holiday again in MZT and stay at Hotel La Siesta.

Great for the price and locationPosted Jan 27, 2015
Pros: Location and price
Cons: Larger rooms
Location: Malecon, many restaurants, centro mercado, Athina Spa
Very small room w a great view of the busy street below. Nice view of the water if you opt for ocean view vs garden. Close to a lot of restaurants and things to see and do. We stayed 2 nights before moving into our luxurious timeshare.

Character Hotel across from the beach.Posted Jan 25, 2015
Pros: Right across from the beach, clean and affordable.
Cons: Softer beds.
Location: Old part of Mazatlan, close to Market, and many great restaurants. Shrimp Bucket restaurant part of hotel and has great food.
La Siesta is a clean affordable older character hotel in the old part of Mazatlan. The staff speak very good english and were very helpful. The rooms have character and are very functional. The beds were typical of most Mexican hotels, very hard but clean. If you're looking for the ultra-spa, comfort, American get away this hotel is not for you. But if you're looking for a clean, respectable, character hotel in old Mazatlan then La Siesta may be the hotel for you.

Nice hotel close to beach.Posted Dec 10, 2014
Pros: Walking distance to Centro Historico and easy access to beach.
Cons: A radio in the room would have been nice.
Location: Great location. Walking distance to beaches, variety of restaurants, Centro Historico with its marketplace, cathedral, opera house and Plaza Machado.
Enjoyed my stay at La Siesta Hotel and will stay there anytime I am in Mazatlán. The rates are reasonable, the staff is helpful and polite. The restaurant is outstanding. Access to the beach is good.
