At the foot of the Sierra Madre Mountains, across from the southern tip of Baja California, Mazatlan is known as the “Pearl of the Pacific.” In the first years of the 21st century, Plaza Machado, Mazatlan’s historic and cultural center, has been restored to its 19th century glory.
