Historic hotel doesn't mean it's a luxury hotel

I understand the Peabody is a historic hotel but I expect a lot more from a four star hotel. The rooms are tiny, the staff were professional but not accommodating. You got my money once but never again.

Drunken Party Next Door!

Posted Mar 22, 2015
Was staying in a really tiny Queen room, smallest bathroom of any hotel I have stayed in, but clean, well kept and charming. The people in the next room hosted a party, drunk, loud, and the whole deal. The operator wasn't answering and multiple visits from security didn't do the job. I got no sleep and realized that I was paying way too much to put up with this stuff. Lots of other good hotels in Memphis, going to try one.

Great area to walk to everything

Grand hotel. Takes you back in time not only in service but ambience as well. March of the ducks was adorable. Upgrade to the Club floor - well worth it.

Nice....But Not As Expected!

Posted Mar 16, 2015
This is a beautiful historic hotel and a great downtown location. However the room was disappointing for the price paid. The walls are so thin, and the hotel was full, so much noise from guests next door just talking in regular voice tone (not yelling or laughing loudly). Also much hallway noise, doors slamming throughout night, along with street noise down below( we were on 7th floor). The staff overall was very friendly & fairly knowledgeable/helpful with most of our needs. We had requested a king room, but got two doubles. That couldn't be changed the staff told us, & the woman was not accommodating nor customer service oriented . The lobby/ bar area downstairs is beautiful. Tour of hotel very interesting and fun. The corner bar had only one waitstaff , one bartender the evening we were there (during happy hour) and the entire room was filled. Service very slow, Overall a nice stay due to location and ambiance of hotel, but not a relaxing quiet enjoyable stay for such a pricey room. Bathroom small as well as sink area, without room for personal items while dressing . Overall would not stay again - rather pay less somewhere else , for a quiet room and a comfortable bath/ dressing area with less history/ ambiance. We were not at the hotel long enough to enjoy - and pool not open so couldn't enjoy.

nice hotel to stay while in downtown Memphis

Posted Mar 13, 2015
Pros: The room was small but good; after all it is an old hotel. The lobby was beautiful. the breakfast buffet was very good.
Cons: There was not enough people to get the cars from the valet parking in a timely manner, but there was a lot of people leaving at the same time.
Location: I was hoping for a lot more to do around the hotel. Beale street was a true disappointment. I would not go there again.
The only problem was the shower head did not have much pressure, which made taking a shower somewhat of a pain. The happy hour was good, the piano player was excellent and the duck march was fun. Would stay there again.

Nice hotel at the heart of Memphis

Posted Mar 8, 2015
Pros: The history, tradition, and location of the hotel.
Cons: The toilets in our room was very small and low to the floor. I am a normal height and build and felt uncomfortable using it
We were thoroughly pleased with my stay at the Peabody. When we arrived the staff was very friendly and we were able to see the Peabody ducks march from the the fountain back to their room, which is a Peabody tradition. There are several resturants, bars, and shops within the ground that was convenient due to the cold temperatures outside.
