My friend and I stayed here for 4 nights in early May 2015. The hotel is located in downtown Ottawa on Lord Elgin Street which has many restaurants and is also close to Parliament Hill, Rideau Canal, Byward Market etc. We had a few breakfast meals and one dinner at the restaurant in the hotel. Food and service was good. Front desk staff were very helpful with restaurant suggestions. I thought it was a little too expensive for the room/hotel amenities.

Overall good location, seems to be a converted apartment building. The lobby had a power outage when I showed up but this did not affect services and the hotel offered complementary parking for the inconvenience. The room was excellent and the price was reasonable for the location.

We travelled to the Ottawa Marriot over the Victoria Long Weekend. I booked the room back in February with the specific request that we would require a crib or play pen. Upon arrival, which was very easy and pleasant, I was told that they would send the play pen right up. We waited around for a bit and then decided to head to the pool with the kids. Upon returning there was still no play pen. We stopped at the Front Desk as we headed out to dinner to advise that we were still waiting. It was at this point we were told that they had given out all the play pens but I could add my name to a waiting list. I pointed out that I had reserved one 3 months earlier. I was told "sorry" and that they could give me a blanket and my daughter could sleep on the floor. Hardly acceptable as she is a human not a puppy! Anyways, we went to dinner, returned to our room and there was still no delivery of a blanket for my daughter. I called down to concierge and epressed my frustration as by now it was quite late. I was told they would "look into it." About 15 minutes later a gentleman from housekeeping arrived with a play pen. Apparently it had been sitting in housekeeping all along? I'm not sure what happened exactly but there was a definate lack of communication between the departments.
Aside from that particular incident we found the hotel lovely, staff was generally accomodating and friendly. We would definitely come back again....just next time we'll pack our own play pen.

We only stayed one night. The hotel room was very nice, clean and comfortable. I was not impressed with the front desk staff. She acted as if we were bothering her, not very courteous or welcoming. Unfortunately there was only 1 person available for check in as well. Luckily when we arrived, we were the only ones checking in. Information about the parking was inaccurate and not helpful.
I would stay again because the room was comfortable and clean.

This is what I'd call "cheap and cheerful" except the hotel staff weren't all that cheerful. Other then that, it was clean, comfortable and in walking distance to major attractions. No bells and whistles though

Ottawa government buildings dominate downtown Ottawa. Rideau Hall has hosted every Governor General since confederation in 1867. Parliament Hill features the Changing of the Guard ceremony each morning in summer. Rideau Canal, the world’s longest skating rink, is popular in winter. The World Exchange Plaza is a prominent office and retail complex that sits 20 stories tall and covers a city block.
