"Great hotel in center of downtown"
The Heathman is a classic hotel, great character. Rooms on the small side, but clean and well cared for. Staff unfailingly pleasant and helpful. The bar has great appetizers and desserts!

"Great boutique hotel"
The hotel is in a great location, within walking distance of public transportation and several local destinations. The rooms are super comfy and have a modern décor. The one downside was that I visited in mid March and it was un-seasonably warm outside (apparently) and the rooms were hot. The hotel has an HVAC system that is set for the seasons and the room could not be made any cooler. The staff was apologetic, but everyone made the same complaint at checkout- something that the hotel needs to look in to. The best part was the concierge. He helped me plan my day and even made me my own walking maps to hit all that I was trying to see. After a cross country flight, I wanted to walk everywhere. He was very helpful and entertaining and understood just what I was after. I would recommend this place and would stay here again in a heartbeat, even with the toasty room.

"Great hotel, great location"
This hotel is a great value. Many of the larger hotels in downtown Portland seem to have their prices driven up by conference budgets. Hotel Rose was a good price and in a great location, right next to the river. There is a MAX Station nearby, as well as a park along the river, easy access to downtown Portland, and many popular landmarks within walking distance. The staff was friendly, valet parking was cheap (for hotel parking), the rooms were small but nice with a good bathroom. The beds were extremely comfortable. The room service was fairly priced (!!!) and breakfast was quite good. We didn't get a chance to dine in the restaurant, judging by the room service I would guess it's very good. My only complaint with the room was the TV picture was pretty bad for being so new. Also, there can be a decent amount of noise if you're on the side of the hotel facing the MAX/highway. Finally, if I could be a tiny bit nitpicky, I really don't like being asked "what brings you into town?" by every staff member. I'm sure many people like that kind of banter but I could do without it. ("So what are you in Portland for?" "A funeral") That being said, this would be my first choice in hotels in downtown Portland. Great value and really nice property and staff.

"2 day 1 night respite and relaxation"
2 day 1 night. I was offered very early check in, offered to use all the amenities at the hotel as well. Don't think you should have to pay for parking $25, especially when the hotel was under construction. Should have been waived. I really could t tell construction was going on other then the entrance to the hotel. My room was very quiet, very comfortable, I ate in the hotel restaurant, very good services and food was excellent, had a excellent massage by Ryan- absolutely one of the best ones I've had. Spa had no music, ambiance was relaxing but would have been even more so if spa music was present. Also, took classes good but not very tailored. I am a member T The Grand Geneva Well Spa in Lake Geneva WI and yoga classes have little things that are offered like cool eye pads after yoga, coffee, tea, orange/lemon/ cucumber water, . My departure was good as well.

"Great Great GREAT location!"
The location of this hotel is perfect for a downtown Portland experience. A block from the famous Powell's Bookstore, two blocks from the best food truck corner in Portland, and central to everything else lovable about downtown (restaurants, shops, coffee, public transport). The hotel was under construction during our stay, but they only worked 9am-5pm so it didn't disturb our sleep. And during those hours it really wasn't noticeable anyway. Staff was friendly and efficient, and service was fast! Daily breakfast, tea and cookies, and bi-weekly wine tasting. Loved this experience.

It was a good price and the complimentary hot breakfast is nice when you do not want to go out to eat in town. Nice location. Small bathroom area, but overall nice enough for the price.
