A short 25 minute straight walk away from the San Diego convention center, this hotel is quiet and clean. I never got to sample the breakfast, but I would happily come back again. Best - TV has loads of channels - impossible to get bored!

There seemed to be construction/renovation going on at the hotel that I had not been warned about it advance. The front desk indicated that this would only start at 9am, but it often started earlier. The room was OK, but the shower was irratic and frequently only would deliver scalding hot water. The beds were comfortable. The hotel cannot do much about the noise in the neighborhood, but the windows didn't keep much of the freeway and airplane noise out, while roadworks across the block added to the general noise level. Lastly, the pool was on the edge of the hotel property, without any privacy from the roads adjoining it, it was dirty and fairly unloved. We didn't swim in the end.

The stay was completely fine for what I needed it for, which was a place to get ready in and to sleep at. The hotel is undergoing renovations which seem much needed as the rooms were a bit dingy. My floor was actively under construction so there were loud sounds in the morning starting around 8am. I am not sure if it was related to the construction, but I tried to shower quite early in the morning and there was no hot water. It was back on around 8 or 9am when my other friends tried to shower. You could hear the freeway from my room as it faced the freeway, may not be an issue for rooms on the other side. There is only a pool which was not heated at the time we stayed (not sure if it ever is). The room was quite small for 3 people, probably better for 2 max. The area right around the hotel isn't the greatest - a lot of homeless people hanging around which made me feel unsafe to walk outside alone as a woman. There is a gas station across the street which was convenient for when we needed to pick up food or drinks.

There is onsite parking but costs $50 a night. They don’t tell you this before booking. The hotel was under construction as well. The surrounding areas are full of homeless encampments.

The staff was very nice and eager to help! Even replaced the shower head when brought to their attention that it was not working properly! I really appreciated that! Location was very convenient. The back side of the property is a homeless camp. It did not feel safe to leave the property on foot. Parking on site is $50/night and valet only so you can't access your car yourself. The pool was entered externally (again, homeless camp) and it was NOT locked! The gym was accessed through the pool, so I did not want to go out there alone. All in all, not HORRIBLE, but wouldn't stay there again.

This hotel was terrible. If you are trying to cut corners and save money by booking this hotel, save yourself the headache and pay extra for a better hotel. First things first, if you rent a vehicle, the hotel charges you $50 per day! Second, the hotel shows under amenities that they have a laundromat on site. This is false they do not. Third, it’s not near any mode of transportation so you will need to use a ride sharing app Uber or Lyft. Fourth, the area isn’t safe at night and there are tents right outside of the hotel with homeless people. So if you like to take walks after dinner, I wouldn’t recommend walking around this place. Again, pay the extra money and stay somewhere else.

The staff was helpful. There was a strong sewage odor, there was cardboard and plastic thru the hallways. Got hit with an unexpected $50 per night mandatory valet charge. As late for our Broadway show due to valet was busy. Major inconvenience

The front desk throughout the 3 night stay wouldn't answer their phone.l without 3-4 attemps of calling back. Very poor lighting in the bathroom. Very poor water pressure in the shower. Couldn't adjust the thermostat. Once you turned the air on, it wouldn't turnoff. The only parking available is $50 a day, totally a rip-off. Will not stay here again nor recommend.

nice property good location, just very dated interior and serverly limited window for room cleaning, had checked in Saturday come Tuesday room still hadnt been cleaned, and the "fridge" supplied to the room wad actually a freezer, no matter what temperature it was set at. on the whole good, but with a little bit of effort it could be so much better

I was super impressed with this hotel, especially because the price was so affordable! Amazing location, walkable to amazing Little Italy dining and farmer's market. Very comfortable and clean room, perfect for my weekend trip. Totally recommend!

We had a fantastic stay here for 11 nights. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was large, plenty space for our luggage and subsequent shopping. The beds were so comfy. Had amazing sleeps. Great to have a bath and shower. House keeping was every other day which suited us. Coffee in the room and in the morning you can access the fresh coffee at breakfast. Didn’t use the pool( small and dated). Found plenty free parking 2 blocks away from the hotel (1st and Fir/Grape). There are homeless in this area and the general downtown area of San Diego. The numbers have certainly increased over the last year. We are used to this as travel here every year. It can be uncomfortable for new visitors. Unfortunately if you want to stay downtown/Little Italy, you will find a lot of homeless people. Little Italy is a very short walk away and has lots of lovely places to eat.

Property is centrally located in the downtown area. However the staff service is very poor. Hotel needs to upgrade the facilities. Cleanness it’s ok.
