Excellent hotel in a great locationPosted Mar 10, 2015
Pros: The location, the staff, the breakfast and the free meals!
Cons: The air conditioner in room 306 needs to be fixed.
Location: Near to trolley (metro rail) stop. USS Midway, Hornblower cruises, Old Town Trolley tour , Little Italy restaurants, Sunday morning farmer's market
We stayed here for a week in March 2015. We were very impressed with the hotel. The location was ideal for us as it was very close to the Trolley (Metro rail) station, and we were using public transport to visit the area. It is within walking distance to a number of attractions such as the USS Midway, and boat trips. Breakfast was better than in similar hotels, with varied hot selections each day, and an added bonus was to have a simple meal provided at no extra charge on three evenings. We've never experienced that anywhere before. Our only problem was with a broken air conditioner, which had been resolved with the temporary addition of a free-standing unit. This had a drawback in reducing the normal sound insulation as one window was used for the heat extraction pipe. The nearby railway noises were somewhat increased as a result, although this was only an issue after about 7am. The room was comprehensively equipped, and included a full complement of kitchen equipment. The hotel has a heated pool,, although we didn't use it ourselves. We would happily use this hotel again!

While the Marriott brand may not offer the most exciting hotels they offer high quality consistent facilities and good service.

excellent location for beach, trolley, foodPosted Mar 9, 2015
Excellent location - central for walking very short distances (all within 1-2 blocks) to the beach and maritime museum, large children's playground, little italy (excellent restaurants), and train/trolley station stop. The train/metro gives you easy access by frequently running trolley to downtown, convention center, old town, seaport village, etc. Can also get to Seaworld conveniently by train and one bus directly. Free hotel shuttle service within 3 mile radius and to/from airport. Staff was friendly and helpful. Free wifi in the rooms as well. Very good buffet breakfast and 'social snack/dinner' M-W evenings. Convenient place to stay also if traveling with children. The hotel is not flashy but is comfortable and clean, with it's location and services being its strengths (also has pool/lounge, exercise facility).

Hotel in MeernähePosted Feb 14, 2015

Nice hotel, GREAT location.Posted Jan 20, 2015
Pros: The central location, the size of the rooms, the wonderful staff. Laundry right on site.
Cons: We had issues all week with key cards not working & they were re-programmed 3 times and maintenance come out. Housekeeping was okay.
Location: The piers are within walking distance along with the GasLamp District. Lots of resturants too. We would go back to this location again.
We could walk to so many places and it was central to others (Sea Wolrd, Lego Land, the Zoo.) The hotel has a shuttle that we used a number of times for local trips - so that saved us time and money. The staff were great -- and we were able to check in early, which was great since we arrived at 10:30 in the morning. That gave us the entire afternoon to sight see. The breakfasts were wondering and since we were still on Central Time, having breakfast at 6 am was good. And two of the nights we were there -- they even had a light dinner. What a great way to treat your guests.

Great value, great locationPosted Jan 5, 2015
My husband and I really liked this hotel. It's across the street from a park and you can see the bay. Little Italy is a couple blocks away. The one-bedroom suite was large and had a kitchen. The courtyard with firepit was a nice place for people in our group to meet up. And the staff were extremely nice. Only issues are that it's a little noisy with the busy street in front, the airport nearby, and train tracks right behind the hotel. If you bring a white noise maker or fan, you should be fine. Also the bathroom is inside the bedroom, so if you're sharing the suite with someone who is staying on the couch, it can be a little awkward as they have to go into the bedroom in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. But it worked out OK for us. It wasn't fancy, but it was clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

Fun near Old TownPosted Nov 30, 2014 on Hotels.com
Other than the train noise, this was a great place to stay. We had a quick shuttle to Old Town courtesy of the hotel. The breakfast was great. We would return.
