This property offers a unique urban experience in a multi-purpose building. It’s not close to anything, but also not too far. The all suite design set above the 11th floor, with the kitchenette, allows one to feel like they are living in the city. If you are used to city walking, you can get to the Gas Lamp, Marina, Petco Park, Little Italy areas w/o too much trouble. Limited dining options in the building, but the Taco Stand and The Diner behind the hotel are great when you don’t want to travel far (Use the back elevator to avoid climbing the hill). Kids loved taking two elevators to get to the rooms.

The overall experience was great. My family and I visited San Diego for the very first time. We were celebrating my daughter’s 18th birthday. We had one hiccup during our visit. The plumbing wasn’t working properly in our original suite. The staff in the hotel were very accommodating and moved us into another suite while we visited the zoo on the following day. Overall I would highly recommend this property. Five stars!!

Not not is the hotel clean from the time you arrive but the staff and the building itself are just very pretty! The area is safe and very walkable. We traveled with kids and had no issues. There is also a shop to grab quick bite!

The hotel is very pleasant. However, if you are renting a car and need to Southpark, it is the strangest parking lot that takes about 20 minutes to get to a parking spot. It’s torturous if you have a large vehicle.

The room was great, the bed was really comfortable and all the staff were courteous and very helpful. We only stayed for a night, but I would definitely stay there again. It was close enough to walk to the Gas Lamp area of downtown, but there is a small hill to walk up coming back. You could always Uber or get a ride on one of the rickshaws. Being that it's in a downtown area, there are transients that are walk around, sleeping, etc. Just be mindful of your surroundings and stick to better lit streets, most left us alone and I never felt in danger. Also, getting in and out of the parking garage is a tight fit. I have a Ram 1500 truck and I fit fine, but some of the turns and spots are tight.

My birthday stay here was amazing. The view from our room was so pretty. The people working there were all so nice. I loved how they had sweets every day and so delicious.

This is a great option in SD. You are near the trolley system, Gaslamp, Little Italy and Balboa Park. All was nice other than Shake the bar/restaurant left a lot to be desired.

Hotel is very nice and clean and super close to Gaslamp. Only complaint is the parking situation. The structure that is connected to the hotel is not owned by hotel so parking fee was per day in order to leave and enter freely.

Solid option for staying in Gaslamp. I thought the location was great since not smack in the middle of the action. The Room was clean, except for some eye lashes that were stuck to the wall lol lol.

Very enjoyable stay at the MVC Pulse
My husband and I stayed 4 nights at the MVC Pulse in San Diego ande really enjoyed the experience. The suite was comfortable, very clean, with a huge bathroom. Service was attentive and the room was tidied every day, even when one day we left the room after 2 pm. My only minor complaint is something that can truly not be changed as is part of the architecture of the building: self-parking is a bit complicated and time-consuming. You have to drive up about 6-7 floors to get to the hotel's assigned parking. I recommend valet parking which adds about $50+ per night to the stay. (Self-parking is around $42 per night)

Sheyanne was great, tbh she overcharged us for parking and we payed more than we needed to but hey she’s gotta make commission somehow so respect for that. Juan said we can’t have a late checkout, but then we called back and spoke to pearl, angie, beto, tatyana, and naomi and they hooked us up with a late checkout. we ended up leaving 2 hours early so we didn’t need the late checkout, but it was nice of them to team up and let us have the late checkout. the lady who cleaned our room was nice enough to not only give us one lotion but two, very nice of her! the complimentary waters were top notch, except one of them was already opened. my only recommendation is to put a bigger table in the family room so we could have a proper poker set up. The fridge space was superb and convenient to fit all of for our drinking needs. our neighbors down the hall. We’re a bit too loud for our liking, but it was OK because we managed to be louder than them. Shayenne can we do this promised us complementary in and out with our parking with our parking pass but we never got it. let me spend a couple paragraphs talking about the parking garage, OH MY GOODNESS. once we arrived into the garage, we were definitely in for a treat. we were not expecting to walk onto the teacup ride at Disneyland but let me tell you, it was magical. we could not stop laughing as we went up seven floors of inescapable torture. once our driver, regained consciousness, we were able to park in a slightly below average spot.

Big suite reasonable price in convenient location
Very large suite in a well maintained building less than 1/2 mile from the Gaslight area and 1 mile from the waterfront. There is a free, on demand shuttle (works exactly like Uber) called Circuit that will take you anywhere in the downtown area.
