"Awesome hotel in central SD near Balboa & Old Town"
Would definitely stay here again and can't wait! Great hotel for the price! They have 24 hr front desk, the room was renovated and looked great. It's in the perfect location near the airport, Balboa, Little Italy, Old Town, and just a hop down the freeway from the Gaslamp District. Really wish we had stayed another night. The air conditioning works, and the bedding and bathroom was clean. Only cons are that the water from the shower runs into the rest of the bathroom because it's a walk in shower, and the parking lot fills up so you might need to park around the area or across the street.

Loved the view from my room (28th floor) and from the top of the tower where there is a lounge bar (40th floor). They offered an upgrade on our room for very little extra and it was well worth it. The concierge was especially helpful.

Wonderful old style hotel that has all the modern amenities. It is conveniently located to the Gaslamp Quarter and is on the busline direct to the airport. The waterfront and Little Italy are all within easy walking distance. They also provide free bike usage on a first come first serve basis which alllows for even more capability to explore the downtown area. Breakfast is not included but there is a very good coffee and pastry shop right next door if you are so inclined.

The Horton Grand is a charming boutique hotel, set in a nicely-renovated setting of two adjoining century-old brick hotel buildings. Rooms are compact but comfortable with charming amenities like fireplaces and vintage armoire closets. The hotel is just off San Diego' Gaslamp District, with lots of food and beverage alternatives within a block or two of the hotel. An easy three-block walk to the Convention Center and Marriott made this hotel a great choice for my stay during a recent convention I was attending.

Everything was fantastic from the food, drink, layout, and staff etc. Loved the roof top pool and bar. And free bike hire! The only thing I'd change is longer pool opening hours. A midnight swim would have been great. Other than that, couldn't have asked for more. Very friendly, professional and helpful!

San Diego’s waterfront airport lies northwest of downtown, which is home to the San Diego Convention Center, PetCo Park stadium, and the Gaslamp Quarter’s. That historic neighborhood’s restaurants and bars are the hub of the city’s nightlife. Balboa Park and the San Diego Zoo form a green swath in this urban jungle. Offshore, Coronado Island offers postcard views of the city skyline.
