The hotel is much nicer in person compared to some of the pictures I saw online. Everything seems like it's been recently redone. Two thumbs up from me. This is were I'll be staying next time I visit San Diego!

I would highly recommend staying in the Sofia Hotel, if you are looking for a comfortable and quaint place to stay in downtown San Diego. It's within walking distance of the Gas Lamp District and other attractions. The staff are kind and helpful. They even have a cute little bistro/bar. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here two nights. First night was pretty loud in the surrounding rooms given it was Friday night and people were coming back from partying. No chance for any sort of relaxing after a long 3 1/2 hour drive this night. Saturday was a bit mellower so gave us a chance to actually relax at night instead of getting frustrated with the noice around us. Overall it was a good stay at the Inn.

Perfect, trendy, little hotel right in Little Italy and at a reasonable price. All the furnishings are modern and stylish while still be very comfortable. Our bed was huge! Everything in our room was very nice and extremely clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. Willing to give advice about the area and call a cab if you need one. It really has everything you need if you are concerned mainly about prime location and clean, nice furnishings. I didn't see bells and whistles (like a gym/spa) but who really needs it when San Diego is such a great city to go out and see! Oh! Also they are dog friendly and do not have an unreasonable rate ($20 per dog per night). Not sure if there is a max quantity or weight but our 2 small ones were more than welcomed by the chipper staff. Though do call if you bring your pet as only certain rooms allow them. Great place and great location. Would definitely stay again.

Downtown - San Diego Intl Airport, San Diego Hotel Guide
San Diego’s waterfront airport lies northwest of downtown, which is home to the San Diego Convention Center, PetCo Park stadium, and the Gaslamp Quarter’s. That historic neighborhood’s restaurants and bars are the hub of the city’s nightlife. Balboa Park and the San Diego Zoo form a green swath in this urban jungle. Offshore, Coronado Island offers postcard views of the city skyline.
