Nice for families with kids, not for couples
In the middle of vacation it is obviously busy. Most guests are families with kids that creates a noisy and busy atmosphere. For a 4 star hotel a bit "cheap", but for families with kids it must be really nice. With I guess 600-700 guests you feel a bit like cattle, but basic issues like quality of the beds and nice bad/shower/water pressure/airco are nice! Decent breakfast, but again, busy in top summer time, which is expected.

I find it hard to understand that there is not even a small bottle of water in the room for guests.

Thank you for your review. Our guests mainly stay on an all-inclusive basis. Of course, bed & breakfast is also possible. For this reason, we do not have a minibar/fridge available in the hotel rooms.

Prima weekend verblijf
Enorm hotel, maar daar eigelijk niets slechts aan gemerkt. Check-in was super snel, alles lag al klaar. Kamer is prima, schoon en compleet. Eten was goed geregeld, ook in lijn met de huidige regels. En het was nog lekker ook. We hebben er ook nog gezwommen.

Lovely hotel. Little annoying they charged me late checkout even though I emailed a couple of weeks ahead to say that I would be arriving a day late and could they do late checkout in place of it (because my Flybe flight was cancelled when they shut down). Water Park is a good addition, although it is more like a swimming pool with added wave pool, sauna etc.

I was surprised by the all the amenities that this hotel had! Several clubs, bowling, kids play area; another area like a jungle gym; an exercise and pool area; spa; at least 4 restaurants and free breakfast buffet - which had SO many choices - including gluten-free breads and options!!! I didn't get to use the pool this time but did bowling and had a lot of fun. They also have a "game room" w/various video type games and whatnot and pool tables and a few other table games like that. I plan to stay this summer if I get the chance to visit my friends in that area again.

Pleasantly suprised!
I just booked as we wanted something close to Assen race circuit and was pleasantly surprised - big hotel with lots of free parking, a nice bar area, decent restaurant and pleasant rooms. Only slight complaint is its a bit far from the centre of Assen but is still walkable. Would certainly return.

You can hear doors slamming all the time from all rooms around you (above and below). All the door closer mechanisms need adjusting so didnt really get a good nights sleep.

We stayed here for 2 night's for bsb at Assen , the location was good at night we had a walk into centre which took about 15mins for a meal and drinks , however we were alarmed to see Police at reception Sunday morning as 3 motorcycle had been stolen from carpark and was told the CCTV was not good so we left are bike in front of reception doors

I've stayed here before but this time I actually got time to use the facilities. The gym was good although some of the equipment can do with updating. The shower is a communal one in the gym, so if you're a bit shy use the one in your room if you are staying in the hotel :) There is s swimming pool (free) and bowling (only free if you pay for the complete package). Ice Rink is currently being refurbished so was not available for use. Other than that the room was good, with comfy beds and nice bathroom, and there was a in room safe. Friendly staff. Breakfast was good, with a choice of hot or continental. The hot was more warm than hot, but ok.

Nealey all good but b/b breakfast not so good bacon small and grease scramble eggs like rubber fried eggs hard and most warm food was cold by time at table and only one toaster at the time ??

Wifi in room needs upgrade as poor most of the times. Also comforter used instead of sheets to sleep with makes it hot at nights.

We only stayed here one night, but found that the room was a comfortable size. Shower was powerful. Shampoo provided but no shower gel, just soap. Breakfast buffet had a good selection of cold dishes but hot selection could have been a wider variety - not a lot to choose from (only a minor point though). Lots of facilities inside the hotel which is only a small part of a larger complex. There is a very impressive large ice skating rink, giant swimming pool, bowling, gym facilities and restaurants etc. You could easily spend a whole day and not leave the hotel :) Lots of parking. Barriers seperate the hotel specific parking from the main facilities car park, although I managed to park in the facilities car park (which was quite full).

would definitely recommend
THe hotel has amazing facilities, there are a variety of areas to eat and drink and relax. The hotel is extremely child friendly, due to the amount of space available. I would advise to book an outside table in the steakhouse if eating in the evening with children as any noise will be diluted and there is a little play area in view of the tables. The staff were lovely. We had an issue with the lock on the room door which although it took quite a long time was dealt with satisfatorily. We will most definitely stay there on our next visit to Assen. But do beware although we booked a baby cot the price was not included in the price paid here and neither was the tourism tax, this added an additional €30 to our bill, however it was worth the price.

Extremely clean, staff were helpful and went out of their way to make sure we had a 5 star stay. Food was excellent. Would definitely stay again. In fact we are planning next years trip already. Very happy!

We spend only a very short night at the hotel, arriving late at night and having to leave the next morning. Once my girls (9 and 11) found out about the swimming pool, they had to discover that area the next morning; The front desk staff was very nice to allow us an extra half hour to check out so everyone was happy . Well done !!

Excellent hotel
Used the hotel as a base for the Assen Youth Cycling Tour. Very convenient as it was right next to where the event was based. Hotel exceeded our expectations and proved to be an excellent choice. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The air con worked well and was well used especially as the weather was hot all week. Had free WiFi which was very useful and seemed to work without any problems. Had access to the swimming pool and other sports facilities included in our room price which again was well used especially after a full days cycle racing. The buffet breakfast was good with plenty to choose from. Had no issues with the coffee machines as mentioned in other reviews. Had a couple if meals in the steakhouse which were also very good. Enjoyed our stay and plan to go back again for next years tour. They also never objected to keeping the bikes in the rooms. Very cyclist friendly.

Perfect for Assen circuit
We arrived in Assen on the Saturday of race day; Sat Nav fully tuned in and ready to go. Unfortunately the road we were instructed to drive down was closed, and so we parked at the circuit. Hotel is very clean, perfectly acceptable, functional and with good facilities. I would say it's perhaps a little pricey; although you pay for the convenience of being near to the track. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food next door in the restaurant was again, very pleasing.

Enjoyable stay
Stayed with my family on a bed and breakfast basis. Friendly and helpful staff and overall the hotel was in a good, clean condition. Nice swimming pool for the kids with a water slide (!), although there was some renovation work going on at the time. The games area could do with some updating (although playing arcade games from my youth was some nice nostalgia), but this is minor and they are all free to play. There are also 2 pool tables in a separate area of the hotel which are free to play and in decent condition. The room itself was clean and nicely presented with an excellent shower, although the beds are very hard from a British perspective. Food in the restaurant was excellent and they were very good with the kids, although expect to pay hotel prices. Rain stopped play on the mini golf, and we didn't have time to try the gym or the daytime activities they run (again free!) but there seemed to be plenty going on. Overall and enjoyable stay and would recommend to anyone visiting Assen.

Great location.
Well located for Assen TT circuit - just a short ride/drive away. You could possibly walk it aswell, but I never tried it. Also reasonably near to Assen town itself, which is reached in about 20mins on foot. Never got round to using any of the hotel facilities, so can't really comment on them. Hotel staff friendly & efficient.

Not a 4 star. Very nice 3 star, but food is marginal. Buffet is average at best, and breakfast is marginal.
