“Very clean and well maintained hotel, wide variety of food at buffet breakfast, helpful staff”
We stayed here for five nights over Christmas '07. The room was very clean with a comfortable bed. For a big person the toilet/shower room might seem quite small with a separate basin area outside, but it was fine for us. Although on a main road, we were not disturbed by the traffic, but could occasionally hear voices, the toilet flushing, hairdryer whirring and TV in the adjoining rooms. Brilliant buffet breakfast with a wide selection of food and drink. Small bar area next to reception with wide screen TV. The staff were very pleasant and helpful (we needed extra bedding, which was quickly provided). The brewery / restaurant next door is really convenient if you don't want to stay in the city centre in the evening. There is a Lidl supermarket nearby, but apart from that you need to go into the city; it's about a 15 minute walk to Neumarkt or the No. 82 bus goes from opposite the hotel and takes 5 minutes (get off at Prager Strasse). From the airport, the S2 train takes 23 mins to Hauptbahnhof, then you can take the No. 11 tram one stop to Budapester Strasse. You walk up some steps to the level of the overpass and then it's about a 5 min walk beside the dual carriageway to the hotel, but if arriving in the dark, it's not easy to distinguish the hotel in the distance. The Hotel Achat provided a comfortable base for sightseeing in Dresden and I would stay there again and recommend it to others.
