Nice hotel outside Dresden

Very nice hotel, with well-appointed rooms and peaceful ambiance. There is no restaurant on site. But the drive to a German country farm eatery is 10 mins. The front desk also offers more options.

Great 4-Star Hotel

Posted Apr 8, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel was very nice and our standard room was surprisingly large. We had an enjoyable stay. The beds were a tad uncomfortable but bearable. I was a little upset when we checked out of our room because we had some unexpected charges. When we booked our room it was for 2 adults and 2 children in our room. When we checked out we had a 25 Euro charge for an extra bed that we were not aware of (may have overlooked this in the description but not sure) and a 25 Euro city tax that was not described in the booking at all. So beware of this future travelers!

Beautiful hotel

Very friendly. Easy to get into Dresden using #94 bus. Sadly no tea/coffee in room and no food service at all when we arrived starving at lunchtime. These are my only complaints.

Beautiful without service

Posted Oct 1, 2012
Pros: The building and the surroundings
Cons: no staff
Location: Not central but nicely located
The hotel is located in a beautiful area in the outskirts of the town, well restored, offering several kinds of facilities. The negative point is that there is no staff for anything (restaurant, bar and welness centre were out of function). As we arrived in the afternoon the only person at the reception (and in the hotel as a whole) was on the phone and continued talking for several minutes. As we had ordered twin beds in our reservation and the room had only a doble bed, the receptionist had to come himself to convert the sofa into a bed and lay the sheets (this was another negative point, since there was no consideration for the special requests). When we returned later in the evening he was still there alone. In the morning there were just two people to serve breakfast although the restaurant was full. Such conditions are not compatible with a 5 star hotel, as they consider tehmselves.

Very disappointing weekend indeed at The Pattis

Posted Jun 29, 2011 on Hotels.com
The first thing we received on arrival was a message that the restaurant couldnt feed us that weekend because a wedding was in the hotel. The room was a two level attic, that was roasting on the upstairs, with no way to cool it down. The bedroom section had a hundred ways to bang your head, the living room section had almost no furniture. They charged extra for breakfast (unlike almost all german hotels) and the location was very remote from Dresden, far from any public transport, so it was car or taxi to town all the time. The parking is insufficient and the stairs to the hotel entrance a small mountain to climb, so dont bring any elderly or disabled here. The public rooms and interiors were pleasant enough, but that apart I can find little positive to say about this hotel. As to Romantik - you have to be joking.

Great hotel on the outskirts of town.

Posted Jun 30, 2010
The hotel is a relatively short drive into town. Nothing around it to walk to, but we enjoyed our stay. The rooms are large and well appointed. We enjoyed our meal at their resturant. I would park in their parking lot rather than the underground garage, which is very tight to manuver in. It has a nice, if under-used spa area .A bargain for the price.

Stay away from it

Posted Jun 28, 2010
This hotel is far away from downtown although in very nice surroundings BUT breakfast costs $28 per person !! A RIP OFF for a simple breakfast!. They make sure not to advertise the price of breakfast . If you can find another place, skip this hotel.

Need to learn more about customer service - disappointing for a 5* hotel

Posted Jun 23, 2009
Generally the hotel is very pleasant. It is just a very short drive away from the old town in Dresden. The room is spacious, but has some disadvantages: It is not possible to watch TV from the bed nor the desk in the room. I had to turn the table with the TV. The bathroom is again quite large, but a little uninspiring. On the plus side, breakfast is very nice. My biggest complain about the hotel is about some of its service: in my mini-bar were a couple of bottles of beer which were past the use by date (by a couple of months) and visibly 'off'. I went downstairs to report this and get a new beer. The hotel receptionist mumbled something like an apology and then made me pay for the new beer. On checkout I queried this and I was told that I had to pay at least half as the hotel also has costs ... I thought this rather mean for a 5* hotel considering that they offered an expired beer to their customers. One other suggestion: Have some signed copies of the chef's cook book readily available.
