“Nice hotel, but the details are missing.”
No free wifi in room or hotel! This is terrible at this time and age. Breakfast is about €20 per person. You can do it for €15 for 2 less than 500 m from hotel.
“a beautiful place to stay”
A friendly, comfortable hotel close to the old city of Dresden
“Well situated and great spa”
The Westin Bellevue hotel is well situated for access to Dresden's old town as well as being on the fringe of the new town with its good shopping and range of restaurants. For me, the proximity of the Neustadt railway station was important : it is about a 10 minute walk or 2 short tram rides. The hotel spa is excellent with a good pool and small but well equipped gym as well as saunas. The hotel restaurant, the Canaletto, serves food of a high standard. The bar food prices seemed a little high by comparison. My room was a little functional though adequate and reasonably sized. Sound proofing between rooms was my only real complaint as noise from next door's television spoiled one night's sleep. Breakfast is a sizeable and well presented buffet in a room overlooking the river Elbe.
“Good choice - need cheaper (free?) WiFi”
Confortable, clean, classy. Front desk very helpful. WiFi costs way up there - 18 Euros for 24 hrs - really? 10 minutes walk from major atttractions in old city plus there are some cheaper eating and shopping choices across the street.
“Expected more!”
The rooms are clean but pretty small. The gym/pool was very dated. The breakfast buffet and overall service was great.
“Good, comfortable hotel”
Spent two days in Dresden and stayed here. Just over the bridge (7 mins walk) from the old town it is convenient and quiet. The new town (very much also worth visiting) is at your doorstep. My basic room overlooked the river with a great of the city . Comfortable rooms with a bath and the usual conveniences. No problems.
“Adequate but a bit disappointing”
The hotel is a large tourist hotel. Average rooms but nothing special. The hotel has 4 floors and offers internet access only in rooms on the 3rd and 4th floors. The room I had booked, of course, was on the 2nd floor. It seems to me that a business hotel should offer internet access in all rooms. In addition the internet access cost 18 Euro per day.
“decent place to stay.”
pretty good price from expedia.
“Good hotel, good location”
Good hotel, but was given single beds when a king bed had been reserved. Pool is nice but dated, and not warm.
“Room with a view”
Our room with the river / city view was really good. Wonderful 'canalleto' view and large and comfortable room. It is about a ten minute walk into the Altstadt and ten minutes the other way to the Neustadt S bahn station so pretty convenient. Both the Canalletto restuarant and the bar had very good food and very helpful staff. Desk staff were also excellent. The gardens are very attractive although most days it was not warm enough to sit out. But if we had not had the view we would probably have preferred a hotel right in the centre especially for a short stay. No tea and coffee making facilities in the room which is a real ommission.
