“pleasantly surprised”

Hotel has improved greatly since our last visit. Our room was very clean and staff were pleasant. Even lobby looked brighter and more inviting. Hope the updating and upgrading continues.

“Nice Place to stay”

Everyone at the Pantall were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and quiet. Although they had the old heating system, we were quite comfortable and slept well. Nice little restaurant with very reasonable prices and good food. We would recommend this place to anyone visiting Punxsy.

I would stay in this hotel again but not a couple of days before the festivities because they close the lounge to get ready and you can't get alcohol drinks in the restaurant.

“Top Notch Service at the Desk”

As hockey fans, we planned on checking in in time to watch the Penguins beat the Flyers - we asked what channel we could find the game on. When we couldn't find it on the tv, we decided to go out to dinner but stopped at the front desk to double check the game's time/ channel. No one at the front desk was a hockey fan but they knew people who were and calls went out to get us the information. Wish I could say that we were able to watch but the game was not part of the cable lineup. Had to read about the win in Sat.'s paper! The people were so helpful!

“It's old, so be prepared”

The hotel has a lot of charm and the new owners are upgrading, but I think my mattress was 30 years old. The restaurant staff was wonderful, as was the front desk staff. But, there is no hiding the age of the facility.

Dirty room with loud Air Conditioner unit. Maybe the last hotel in North America that still uses a key !!

“One night stay was pleasant”

While the hotel is old and could use some upgrades, it was clean and the staff was very helpful. The restaurant was being remodeled during my one night stay, but the staff gave an excellent recommendation from the staff for a nearby restaurant for breakfast. The manager was especially helpful arranging for a late checkout.

I know the hotel is very old but a little upkeep goes along way.

“Not worth staying here”

It was our impression that this hotel was being renovated when in fact it is the same as it has been for the past 15 years. It was occupied by shale workers, noisy, found a bug in the bathroom, shower antiquated, hot water slow to come, air conditioner noisy and musty smelling. This could be a beautiful landmark hotel if someone invested the time and money into updating it to something cleaner and with more modern features, including newer bathrooms, new carpeting, different air conditioners in the room that don't blow directly onto the bed. I would not go there again unless it was modernized or even just cleaned up.
