"Beautiful hotel away from the hustle and bustle."
We are a couple in our forties that spent three nights at the Waldorf Astoria in December 2014. It seems any teething problems previously mentioned about this hotel have been ironed out. The hotel rooms are luxurious and spacious, we chose a Sea/Palm view which was stunning with the contrast of beach and city scape. Staff are all very friendly and eager to please. The room and facilities were spotless and as the hotel is relatively new, still looking fresh. The location is approx a 15 min taxi ride from the main attractions, which suited us fine. I would certainly recommend the hotel as a quiet romantic break for those who appreciate the finer things in life and good service. A few small things that could be improved upon: Unless you are a whizz with technology the lighting system in the room can take a while to work out. The adults only pool has no sign indicating this, so children occasionally venture into the pool, to the great annoyance of some guests. If you are a lover of a full english breakfast, you will be disappointed. There are cooked breakfast options, but they are not great. There is some building work going on further around the crescent that you could very occasionally here in the distance, but you should expect this in most areas of Dubai. There is an undeveloped piece of land next to the hotel, so be wary if they begin to develop that. All in all a beautiful hotel that I would recommend and would return to.
