Cons: Rooms although good are beginning to look dated.
Good no nonsense apartment hotel close to the centre. Ideal if you have a limited budget. Friendly staff. Close to metro and never a problem for taxis to get around.

In general nice staff but one guy spoiled it all.Posted Jun 14, 2015
The night before check out, I has the worst experience ever in any hotel during my 15 years of international travelling. I asked for help printing out my boarding pass to the guy in the reception (the bold guy). He handled this request in a rude and very unfriendly way. I was left with the impression, he had no intensions to help. As it turned out impossible to print out my boarding pass, I asked for a wake up call at 04.00. I requested this in the reception and then called later from my room (had the impression, he needed to be reminded). I did not receive any call... In general all the staff was friendly except this bold guy. Unfortunately he spoiled my stay, meaning this will be my first and last stay at Golden Sands. This message will be passed on to my traveling contacts.

No Cold waterPosted Jun 6, 2015
No cold water at this hotel at all, the coldest water they have comes from the hot water tap and is above 60 degrees celcius. Otherwise everything else was adequate for the price I paid.

Great hotel in a great location. We had a grocery store right across from us, so that was very convenient. I would definitely stay here again.

Short StayPosted Jun 1, 2015
Pros: Location, and price, along with the cleanliness makes this a good deal for anyone staying in Dubai.
Cons: The restrooms were the only part that could use some updating but for the price... not bad.
Location: Located in Bur Dubai. near the night life, and Old town.
The only issue is there are about 10 Golden sands buildings and I didn't know which I was staying at. The address listed here on Expedia is not correct and inexact. I booked two rooms and at first they expected me to stay at one location and my friend to stay at another. At first the attendant did not see the issue and blamed it on me. I argued firmly and it was finally resolved.

Not told about very noisy construction workPosted May 21, 2015
Pros: Half the reception staff have no customer service training and were rude. Cleaners/porters were lovely.
Cons: Be honest if major works are going on that will affect people's stay.
I needed a serviced apartment for 4 weeks whilst job hunting. The place was fine but the hotel did not advertise at the time of booking, nor tell me when I arrived, that the hotel would be under construction for those 4 weeks. And it was LOUD construction noises, it drove me mad inside and I could hardly concentrate. Also if you were outside by the pool, it would have been even louder, not great for relaxing. I felt a bit cheated by not being told such substantial noisy work was going on and I wouldn't be able to work inside the apartment.

Good spacious roomsPosted May 20, 2015
The rooms and amenities were all pretty good. The bathrooms need an overhaul though. Loved the extra space.

Central and convenientPosted May 18, 2015
Cordial staff. Comfy bed and good facilities. Non-smoking room regulations are rather lax. Breakfast is not to standard - a lot of re-heated food, much of which was lukewarm.
