Good hotel in central locationPosted Apr 1, 2014
Pros: The friendliness of staff and the position of the hotel in relation to exploring the souks, the creek and many shopping malls. Good restaurants.
Cons: The rules about smoking in rooms
Location: Great location approx 15 minutes from airport, across the road from the water taxis crossing the creek, close to the spice and golds souks and several
Very helpful staff who went out of their way to get a room prepared for us as early as possible due to our 5 am arrival. Although the hotel was very busy we were allocated our room by 8am and were able to have a sleep prior to exploring the city. Thank you

A great mid-range choice for DubaiPosted Jan 15, 2014 on Hotels.com
I stayed at the Hotel Riviera in January, 2014. This was my second stay at the hotel. The room I had this time was newly renovated, quite comfortable and large. Everything was spotless, and I had a very comfortable bed and a sofa. Breakfast was included and of good quality and variety. The location is good, a short walk from the souks and perhaps 200m from the metro. There are a number of restaurants within walking distance, including a few late night places. I also ate at the Asian restaurant in the hotel - service was good, and the food was decent. I would happily stay at the Riviera again, especially if I did not need to be further south. The Creek location is good for everything north of the Burj.

Wish I could have stayed here longerPosted Dec 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
Great breakfast, great service, great location if you want to visit the local souks or take an abra ride, clean room and comfortable beds. Only issue I had was the non-smoking room had a weird smell to it, almost like stale smoke, but the entire floor had the same smell (plus it wasn't unbearably strong) so I did not bother complaining about it. This was still the best of the three hotels I stayed at in Dubai and I would definitely recommend it.

Fantastic servicePosted Dec 16, 2013 on Hotels.com
The service here was great! Very friendly, helpful & even gave me a late checkout until 10pm for no extra than what I was already paying until 8pm. Great location as it was only 10/15 mins walk to Gold & Spice Souks. Breakfast was really good, plenty of variety & good food! The bed & pillows were so comfortable! My only disappointment was that the room smelt a bit like smoke which was unpleasant but didn't bother me too much. Otherwise, everything was awesome. Would definitely stay here again.

Pros: Near the creek and souks. The hotel staff were accommodating in allowing us to stay in our rooms, even though check out time was 12.00.
Cons: Hotel needs updating. Its looks very tired.
Location: Shopping i.e. malls, souks, Meena bazaar.
Hotel is centrally located, good for shopping. Public transport nearby
