Best resort for family

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: Excellent service by hotel staff
Location: Wildwadi also very nice
I stayed with my family (13 years old and 5 years old children). Because we stayed at suite, we could have fee breakfast / afternoon tea and cocktail service.

Beautiful hotel right on the beach

Posted Jul 29, 2014
What a fabulous hotel, location, staff and experience. Amazingly comfortable rooms and the hotel itself had a relaxed ambiance whilst remaining thoroughly professional. The staff couldn't do enough for you making the whole trip a wonderful experience and one that I will definitely look to repeat in the not too distant future.

Long weekend break

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Perfect long weekend break. Definitely book the Premium Club lounge rooms. It's worth the extra money so you can have private brekkie, a private (quieter) pool and lovely free afternoon tea. The Palm Court was closed for refurbishment but the hotel has all the facilities you need for a long weekend away from London. Not the cheapest hotel in the world but that's reflective of Dubai rather than the JBH. Enjoy.

Amazing Hotel

Posted Jul 12, 2014
Pros: Staff are the very best in Dubai - nothing is too much trouble The facilities are being upgraded - and they are already fantastic
Cons: NOTHING.
This is the very best experience that you can have in Dubai - the hotel is consistent every time we stay here - its really is amazing and worth every penny to stay here.

Superb!!

Pros: Staff, cleanliness, pools, beach, food, check in and out, a solidly perfect experience.
Cons: Bouncers, door staff, big black burly intimidating hardmen, a bad look and not required at every venue such as the Uptown bar on the 24th floor, ridic
Location: Lots, google it.
Wife and I just back from 7 days of the usual high end fabulously brilliant JBH. Thing is, it's definitely expensive, for everything, yes everything, nothing is cheap, however, the level of service is simply sublime, therefore for me, us, justifying the expense incurred. Its a week out of 52, one week of sun sea with super food n wine, staff whom are there to please, and do consistently every day, morning noon and night. So, if you have the dosh, treat yourselves.

Trading on its name, location and iconic shape

Posted Jun 19, 2014
Pros: 99% of the staff were friendly, knowledgable and smiled. They were great. And I think it would be great for families as well
Cons: poolside loungers. Waiting time for meals and drinks at the poolside, Veranda restaurant.
Location: Wild Water Wadi free to guests and you have a direct entrance from the hotel - use it - its fun
Not a great experience. Drilling/works meant that I had to request a change of rooms. Reception seemed to be unaware of any works near my room and at first offered to have Security look into it. I pressed on and was offered a change of room. The second room (which took several hours to sort out) had an empty mini bar and the lights were faulty. Pizza at the Veranda was uneatable, and returned, with little grace from the manager. Overcharged for drinks at the poolside, Waited for almost 1 hour from requesting a menu to getting a meal at poolside. Drilling (again) split the massage I had at the Spa. Sunbeds - where are they? - squashed in like saddens around the pool, with no personal space. On + side - La Parrilla - good knowledgeable staff and excellent meat - try the butchers night. Housekeeping great and staff generally were fantastic. I wrote the above comments on the comments card in the hotel and did get a sort of "sorry" from a generally manager within 24 by email, which shows they do read these things. Overall I feel its trading on its location, ams and the iconic shape of the building. Its not 5*
