This hotel is not a family friendly hotel. A lot of noise during night time, hardly we were able to sleep. Preference is given to the night club activities. Dubai government has to curb these nightclub activities otherwise it’s difficult for a family to come and enjoy the Dubai city.

Location of property is unique walking distance to metro ,public transportation , Taxi, Gold souk in Deira across the creek by boat for one cost of one Dirham ,Sport bar. Rooms are very spacious , and on top of all reasonable price .I have been stating at Royal Ascot for many years.

The check in was very tough. We booked two rooms and they did not allow the kid in second room while the web site says sleep up to four people. They charged us for extra BED. Not good. I am disappointed.

It was good trip as stayed in this hotel few times. However this time the reception did not do a good job first of all for not alloting the non smoking room in the first place and also forgot to give the documents delivered by company to the room and neither informed about it.

Was worst experience staying at this hotel ever. Its not even worth 1 star. When we arrived early in hotel after 6am. The guy in reception said we had to 10 11 and 12 as no room was available. Then he said we can check in early if we paid 100 dhs. He lied and was making money. The room was horrible. The shower was hot even on the cold setting. We complained twice but nothing was done. Making excuses. The breakfast was awful. It only catered for Indian people. The omlette they had was stale. My friend found hair on one his breakfast food and the manager blamed the hotel guest. The standard of this hotel is really bad. I would like get my money back from stay. I would not reccomend this hotel to anyone. Very substandard and horrible.

Loved this spacious hotel in the old part of town, We had a huge room. The staff were very friendly and obliging with a nice decent sized pool on the roof. They served a good buffet breakfast, also a great Indian restaurant on the roof top. Near enough to walk through the local shops to the Creek with boats to the old Souk, riverside restaurants and river trips. I would definitely book there again

The hotel seems to have a secret directive to conserve electricity. The reception staff were trying to give out only one key card per room saying they were short of cards. Then, I had to shower with only luke warm all the 6 days I stayed there, despite them saying there was no problem. Yet, the Spa on top floor had scalding hot water, as it should have been.

lovely looking hotel / rooftop bar fantastic
Stayed here twice before, had a topclass stay and was looking forward to this time as it was my sisters birthday, but the disappointment was so great....3rd time defintely not lucky ... service at front desk was "yes ok madam"or " but thats ok" "you can do it later"...or if we requested clean towels for 2 people ....only one would come and they would say but we brought this morning... it was so hot so we found ourselves showering at least 2X. if you ring room service they would say not us please front desk ...call front desk they call another.... breakfast room was always very dirty ....food on the floor ....we told them the seats and floor is dirty they tell us"its ok" the service in the rooftop bar was topclass = the staff were lovely friendly helpful...i did not complain when they brought us singles and charged us for double because the experience was topclass...we forego that money as tip/ or service charge YES I AM A VERY DISAPPOINTED GUEST AND FEEL EMBARRASSED TO HAVE TAKEN MY SISTER ESP AS IT WAS HER BIRTHDAY

Facilities good, staff two staff members not
We are both english speaking but could not understand the girl with braces at reception. Even after asking repeatedly. The night before departure we paid an additional tax (although we had paid online including taxes when we booked) to prepare for an early quick departure, the receptionist wanted to hold us up until he could find someone to check if we had used anything from the minibar. We walked out angrily as we had no time to waste before our flight check-in. We were told there is no problem getting a taxi by the concierge the night before and that this hotel is a 24 hour manned place. There was no concierge on duty when we left, which was a let down as we had to flag a taxi down ourselves. More unneeded stress in a foreign city. The room itself was good, the shower facilities clumsy and dated. The room big, the bed good.

Go somewhere else! Trying to be positive I have racked my brain to think of something I can say with a redeeming quality to this hotel but unfortunately can't!

Hotel in Indian area of Dubai
It was an issue to me that the no smoking room smelt of stale cigarette smoke that permeated the bed clothes. It should be made clear in the hotel literature that the hotel is designed and I suspect owned for Indian guests. The breakfast was heavily influenced this way and despite having restaurants serving other types of food the overall feel and smell of the hotel was of Indian food. If that's no worry to you -fine. It was for me though and I should've been made aware before booking

Was a fairly nice hotel, but not a 4-star. Was probably worth the 4-star rating in 1990 but the years have worn this hotel down. A 3 or 3.5 Star Rating would be more accurate
